Bunker Rule....worst thing ever..

S our field applies the bunker rule to smaller children ages 13 and under....today i sneak up and yell bunker to a kid im 2 feet behind and he turns around and starts shooting at me i yell for him to stop but he just keeps shooting! this is why you dont let kids not yet ready to play paintball join the game because when a dad gets upset that i started to scream at his precious little 12 year old prodigy im just gonna tell him what i told the father that did it today...i dont give a **** tell your kid to learn to control his damn gun

trick to get noobs to stop shooting u.... shoot back. even if it doesnt technically matter because he is already dead or i usually go to the shot in the foot or you can always shoot right past them (but hit the bunker in front of their face)and yell bunkered if it was an established rule then keep moving.

just shoot them once, they'll get out. if you're worried about hurting them then shoot them on their pack or their shoe/leg whatever. If they shoot back at you then tell them they're already out or whatever and get a ref over if there is a problem

Curious. Right where my strap makes contact with my head is apparently the worst for me.

You are a disgrace to the English language.

With that being said, I never tell people to "surrender". Just shoot them somewhere that will inflict minimal/no pain.

This
I don't really put myself in a situation where I would have to surrender someone. Most of the time bunkering someone is just a risk you don't need, you can just as easily go down the tape, get an angle and send a few balls at his pack.

Yeah there were several times I tried to use that stupid rule. I feel your pain. Several times the ref just called us both out, but if I had a chance I could of easily took out the other player without him even knowing it. They do turn around and start shooting. Sometimes when I surrender somebody, I could easily just bunker the dude clean, but instead I have to yell out "Bunker!" or" Surrender". Sometimes it ends in an argument. This wastes time and it forces me to be stuck in that particular bunker until the situation is resolved, meanwhile attracting all the attention of the other team. I have been shot out so many times waiting for the nut to leave his bunker so I can take it.
I also hate when somebody surrenders me, not even having the shot, 50-30 feet away. Sometimes I end up just shooting the dude, or the other team starts screaming at me that said dude surrendered me, when he never came out of his bunker to get to my bunker. This rule certainly does not reward aggression. There are times that I will take out many people at once, only for the other team to argue and stay in because there was a dude 50 feet away that yelled surrender when I ran into my position. WTF?

There was a time when I ignored the rule. I took out 7 people in 30 seconds. I put 3 paintballs into the center of the first dude's mask and continued on. I did this because I was mad that I couldn't advance to this hill that people kept camping on. The dumb 10 foot bunker rule was preventing me from even getting close. The ref said he didn't call me out, because he wanted to see what was going to happen. I set up my team to have two people run through both sides of the field and I would go up in the center totally exposed as the sides of the field were distracted with the tapeline. It worked. I sat there in the open and destroyed everyone on the hill after ignoring the rule on the first dude.

There were also times when I ignored the rule where I would just get lit up hard by the guy I just courtesy bunkered. Sometimes I would just ignore it and continue on as if the paint didn't count. By the end of it I would be lit up like a christmas tree. One guy in particular was a middle aged adult. Those guys can't take even the smallest amount of pain without getting extremely pissed. Thankfully my tourney backman was there to say that, that's how I played all the time and to deal with it. But I couldn't shake his death stares all day. Seriously? It's called being bunkered with 1 round. Don't throw a **** fit. Of course those were the days before I cursed combatively to keep people off me. I was just that mellow dude that was passive aggressive.

There were times when I expected the guy to turn around and shoot me after I called the surrender. I tucked back in behind his bunker and calmly snapped in a different direction. This works sometimes. But oddly some dudes are still mad that I actually shoot them while they are in the act of shooting me.

Where do these guys come from?

I'm not a big fan of playing with newbies.

Kind of like my thoughts on kids in general, once they become adults and take on being productive members of society it's great, but while they are drooling noise boxes with no purpose other than to eat your food and annoy you, I would rather they slept outside.

Once a paintball player learns the ropes and realizes that if you just sit behind your bunker and wait for them to come get you they are going to have to shoot you up close because you leave them no other option. Also realize, when that does happen, that it's part of the game and you need to grow up, shake it off, and get ready for the next game.

That. Even the scrawniest 10 year old renter will try to spin on you when you shout "Surrender", often leading to a situation that is far more dangerous/painful than if you had just shot the idiot. Just shoot them once in the butt.

I will run up on them and yell "you're out", most of them throw their gun in the air or they will ask "why am I out?" So i tell them "well i could shoot you". If that doesn't pan out pop them in the pack or leg once.
