Wouldn't buy any of those. I'd get something from 2009-2011 lightly used with a good bit of warranty left. What are you looking for in a car? You're kind of all over the place with your list.

Well I've had a kia forte for the past 2 years which has been fine but my brother will get to keep it, I'm looking for something will good MPG and fairly good style, around the $16k range. I'll probably have it for less than 5 years. The dart will supposedly get 40mpg like the elantra and I like the look of it so I'm leaning towards that right now, but not sure since it's not out yet.

Look up reliability and mileage of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. That's what the Dart is going to be based off of, so that's your best bet on finding anything out about it.
I dug the Elantra when I was looking for a car, and would probably be in one right now if not for the ridiculous dealer markup at the time (they had just come out).
Old v6 mustang is poop. That's all I have to say about that.
I was never a fan of the Forte, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I'd agree with the man above me in suggesting a current gen Focus or Mazda 3 hatchback. Both should have depreciated enough by then to be in the 16-17k range.

You're only planning on having the car for 5 years, why not used? Plenty of good used cars can probably get 35+ mpg on the highway.

Eh, I'd look for cheaper if you're just going to have it for 5 years. You can probably get a 2006 Sentra or some other high mpg car and sell it for a very slight loss if any when gas is super expensive again in the future.
But it's your money. I guess I'm just not the person who cares to have the newest cars.

Well in 2010 I bought the '10 forte that was a former rental and haven't had a single problem with it in 2 years, and on the other hand I'm a little suspicious of used cars that are less than 2 years old since there would likely be a specific reason why it was returned so soon. But I'm okay with taking chances so both options are on the table for me anyway.

'08 Nissan Altima coupe3.5/2.5
Mazda 3 hatch back
Genesis 2.0t
I know there is a pretty big price difference in these I'm looking for a decent daily driver. I currently drive a '97 maxima 3.0 v6 decent power I don't mind it. Just time for something new. Looking to spend about 16-17k. I am open to suggestions also. Thanks in advance
