I think I'd said somewhere, maybe even here, that the idea was probably to be able to be an "every situation imagineable" barrel kit. With the number of tournament guys dipping their toes into things like UWL and scenario games, the Apex is a good fit. The people who buy the kit and don't want the Apex tip, I'm sure will find a place in the BST for it, and guys with Freak sets who wanted just an Apex tip to complete their own needs will buy them up.

That's exactly what people are going to start doing. Buy the kit, sell the pieces you don't want/need to get some of your cost back. Now you have a barrel kit that will last you until the day we eventually switch to plasma rifles.

Umm... people are saying these guys will sue GOG,
How would they go about doing that if GOG acquired rights to SP's products. which includes the original freak barrel system.
Unless I am not aware of some sort of barrel system before SP's

Kee purchased the IP of Smart Parts. They own the rights to all the "goods" manufactured by Smart Parts, as related to their IP.

Yeah until the market gets flooded with Apex tips that will be unsellable because everyone who bought the kit is trying to sell them at the same time.
I said this on an earlier page but I'm saying this again: hopefully they sell the pieces separately or come out with a kit that doesn't have a bunch of useless tips for cheaper.

LoL they could just be repackaging all the old stock that Smart Parts had on hand that they aquired our of bankruptcy for pennies on the dollar.....
Buy 10k sets of freak kits for 1/10th the cost, put in new wrapper, sell for 2x the price = epic profit.
If they look exactly the same then you can probably bet that is what they are doing.
Brilliant move.....

You can also bet they've got the CAD files for them, and apart from shaving off a few grams why **** with something that works and is guaranteed to sell?

I don't really like the Freak tips, but having the Apex as part of a kit is a great marketing ploy; to have something for the woodsballers and speedballers means you're hitting both markets. It's intelligent.
I'd rather see them release the kit that comes with the Sniper on it's own, I just like the look of it more.
