To clarify all music is copyrighted when it is released. After X years it enters public domain.

Some artist may just give you the right with out royalties but if you're not sure assume it is copy righted.

use soundcloud.com/creativecommons and you will get all licensed tracks, but refine to search to "attribution only" licenses.
