Demon HPR Maintenance
So I watched the HPR video...just wondering how often this is necessary? I am about 4-5 cases in at this point on my gun. Also, he mentions using a "lighter grease." What are people using in their regs? Still DOW55? That is what is looks like was in there, but in my opinion I wouldn't really call that a "light" grease. Thanks!

No...it most certainly says "Use a light grease, if it is hot, really hot, use a slightly heavier grease"...this is at 3:36-3:42.
Maybe this is an English phrase I am not understanding. This is the video that is on the CD manual that came with the gun, same as the video on the Demon maintenance thread.

More importantly...how often does this need to be done?

About every 10 cases wipe clean and apply thin coat.

Yeah don't worry about it for a bit. Most markers HPR's don't need everyday maintenance on it like bolt systems do. Same with LPR's although the Demon doesn't have one of these..

Well I know the bolt needs greasing after ever use...played with it this weekend and the bolt was nearly dry after about a case, then again it was pushing 95 degrees.

Have you been using Dow 55?

Religiously...some of the guys have used that green Hater stuff, but it feels a bit thin to me. And I am not nearly bold enough to put Vaseline in my gun, although I am fairly certain Vaseline would be gone even quicker than the Dow 55. Even in the shade, our guns are still hot to the touch if you leave them for any amount of time. I want to try the Monkey Poo, but haven't brought myself to spending $13 for a jar.

If it's really hot and your grease is shooting out fast, you could always do a mid day lube job. It only takes a minute.
