Best reg for an RT mag

I have a ule rt mag and I'm looking to put a better reg on my 88/4500 tank than the pure energy reg I have shimmed up to 1200 psi. I can get a little RT out of it but not quite what i'm after. I'm wanting to purchase a commercially available reg like the Ninja UHP reg. Anyone with experience on these, your input is appreciated. I am familiar with Armageddon regs and the like but would like to have a removable tank. Would the ASA restrict air flow? I have a shocktech asa on there now. Any and all input is appreciated.

It is a common misconception that pressure alone controls the strength of your mag's RT effect. If you are really looking for alot of RT, but you don't want to have horrible efficiency, purchase a shorter on/off pin. Most likely you have the .750 pin in your valve. Replace it with a .712 pin available from AGD website. As for your reg, newer Crossfire regs have the most consistency and you can get the RT effect with 800-900 psi input. I use three Ninja regs, one shimmed to 875, two to 915 and get a good RT effect but the recharge on Ninjas is just a bit slower than Crossfires.

thanks, I am aware that pressure is not the only thing that affects the RT effect. I know air flow helps a lot as well. I will look into the shorter on/off pin.

I am looking for that shorter pin but only see the .750 pin on AGD's website. Is the pin made for another valve? Could I grind down my current pin?

people used to grind them down but people would cut them down to short and would cause runaway and excessive sear wear

tunaman5@verizon.net He has whatever you need, and can custom cut an on/off pin for you.
