Ego 8 Velocity Problem

My friend recently bought a used Ego 8.

From the start it had a whole host of problems including shots essentially rolling out of the barrel. His board would also display an eye malfunction message. And at one point the bolt pin started popping out which seemed to stop once he wiped the excess lube off the ram.

He has since gotten new eyes which work fine. And not had another bolt pin issue. We also figured out that the valve pin had been installed backwards which solved the ball rolling out of the barrel problem.

However, now the gun will not shoot over 220fps. Everything in our knowledge has been tried. Additionally, it fluctuates between about 180
and 210 with some shots spiking to 220.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried the battery. What's the stock dwell setting? I'm pretty sure his ego has a virtue board.

Check QEV's. In the 08 and older that is usually the cause of velocity problems. Also, rebuild the rammer and both regs.

For the board reset to factory and then tune dwell per the sticky.

If you cant get an 8 to shoot over 220 then its your QEVs, replace them and while your at it, strip the entire marker and do a full oring rebuild and clean.

Thanks for the advice everyone. My buddy already replaced all the o-rings so I guess it must be the QEVs.

He ordered new QEVs today, so if that doesn't solve the problem I guess he's SOL.

check the tip of the LPR piston....there should be a cushion on the tip, if there is nothing but metal, buy a new one....$15. I was having very similar issues with my 08 and the new piston fixed them all.
