400 puts you pretty close to a dm8 maybe a 9 if you find the right deal or person getting out of the sport

If your going to get a proto, I would suggest a used mac dev. They are 600 new so it wouldn't have to be that old, and they can compete with any 08/09 dm or any other high end gun at that price

The flaw with this logic is that you can find a PM8, which is arguably the best market that Dye/Proto ever made for around $250 which is less that what you would find a used DX or Droid for. All of them are fantastic shooters though.
I love Matrices. Tuned right they are one of the best.

Ok, number 1, its Macdev. One word. Number 2, Macdev currently has a clone gt, Drone dx, clone vx, clone vx's, clone v2, clone v1, cyborg rx, etc etc. Suggesting a used Macdev is not helpful, please try to point the op more in whatever direction you are thinking with some more description. Also the drone dx is currently up for 550 new and the Glone gt is 1,400 new so you are also confusing the op there with the 600 new macdev gun.

I've never shot/seen one so I didn't include it. I try not to suggest a gun unless I see maybe 10 straight people say how good/bad it is or personal experience. Don't think I've seen a bad comment about the pm's though

$400 will get you a very nice Matrix. Maybe even a DM9.

So you recommended different guns because you had not shot the gun, or because you had not heard of other people describing themselves shooting the gun? For all of our sakes here on this wonderful forum, please do not go around recommending things based only on others recommending them. If someone has something good or bad to say about a gun they will, don't repeat them unless its a similar, personal experience with the product.

I also hate begin corrected but it still funny.
still he has a valid point, you're* just spouting gibberish as if you know first hand but your really dont.
I handled a Clone and its pretty nice but Macdev still doesnt have the pedigree as Dye has. I also have heard that the PM8 is the best marker put out of the Dye but have no reason why. Could anyone explain ,for the Op and myself, why the PM8 is always highly recommended.

Wait a few months and I'm positive you can score a DM9 if you really want a matrix. The 9 is great, too. Especially now that Lurker came out with the Eigenring to fit this generation of markers.
Just make sure to keep it maintained.

Because for the price and build, it has incredible performance which is nearly on par with many of the Matrices before and after it. It is different in design than all the proto/dye guns before and after it, and it also is just ridiculously light (as all nice guns are anyways)
Honestly, if it weren't for the ****ing eye ribbons, the PM8 would be an immaculate product...
well... I mean the ASA and board... but at least they do the job well.
