Restricted Marker Colors

Hey,

I have been out of the sport for about 8 years and I am looking to purchase a new marker and start playing again. My question is are there any marker colors that are prohibited for tournament speedball play (PSP, NPPL, etc). For example, is it prohibited to use a marker that is orange or white? I read the rules but they are ambiguous. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

personally i'd stay away from orange, you can run into some issues depending on tournaments. I know CFPS doesnt allow any pink or orange. Your safest bet is to go with a neutral color.

I know for a fact that you can't have orange. Not 100% sure on other colors though

Depends on the Referee's mood honestly. Although its very nice to have a vibrant neon colored gun for rec ball, it wont come in handy during tournaments. Try to see what the tournament players are shooting as far as paint goes mainly pink, orange, sometimes a neon blue.

My suggestions would be to go with a white or black or a darker shade of a color. Now if you get lets say a white dm12 with neon pink or blue or orange accents, that wont be to much of a trouble.

The rule is anything that impairs a judges ability to make a call, this color rule goes for clothing as well as hoppers and tanks.

from the psp rulebook

9.7.3.1. For reference purposes, 'yellow' is any color similar to Pantone colors 101, 102, 107, 108, 109, 116, 3945, 3955, 3965, and 803, although any head judge may prohibit any equipment they believe interferes with the judges' ability to officiate effectively.
