Thumbs up Differences between the Extcy and Ion XE...

This question popped up a few times in threads and I didn't answer them because I didn't want to drive the thread off topic. So here you go....

Extcy Differences~
*Adjustable Feed Neck
*Black Heart Board (PSP, CFOA, Millennium, NXL, Rebound, Full Auto, Semi Auto, Capped Semi Auto, Select Fire, Auto Response, Burst and Billy Ball Modes)
*Break Beam Wired Eyes
*Spring Style Detents
*The Body which is different, features Removable Eye Covers (Clean Eyes Faster and Clean/Replace Detents Faster)
*Breach
*Grip Frame
*Maxflow R Regulator (Built in Relief Valve. Safe for Co2 or Compressed Air)
*On/Off ASA
*Accepts the Optional 4mm QEV
*After market Styled Trigger (Not Compatible with ION Triggers)
*Comes in a nice reusable hard case with carrying handle.
*Solenoid/Board Layout is similar to what we used in the Envy and G-1. Which is nice because you can buy the solenoid and board separate or together. I also want to add that the solenoid was design to take co2 or compressed air. ** Realistically you wont be able to shoot 17bps with co2 but it is able to shoot 11bps on co2 with the dwell correctly set and a anti-sypon tube installed in your tank.

Similarities with ION XE~
*Barrel threads are both the same....Ion/Impulse/GOG Threads.
*Accepts the same feed neck threads.
* The Back Caps visually look different but are interchangeable.
*Fire Bolt will fit both markers.
*They are both Bolt Out The Back.
*They both accept 45 style rubber grips.
*Both markers use 9 Volt Batteries.
*Both have Break Beam Eyes.

I like how when the Extcy shoots, it sounds just like the DLX Luxe! got that hissing sound.

just got the 360 on mine with the bolt and dwell went from 27 to 16-17.. big difference. Either you love the Ion based markers or you hate them

It's measured in I think mili seconds and is how long your tank opens. So 1/2 the dwell time = 1/2 the air use

your tank stays open as long as the pin is depressed. Dwell is how long the solenoid opens. A longer dwell time will result in a smoother shot, while a lower dwell will have better efficiency. Search dwell in the search bar and you will find lots

so when dealing with a dwell setting, its a toss up between choosing a smooth shot, and an efficient shot? & im assuming "efficiency" deals with using less air to get more shots out of a single tank?
also, i know it might sound like a retard question, but what makes a shot "smooth" ...?

a smooth shot is a mix between the lack of kick it has and its consistency. so you could say a tippmann or autococker is smooth if you get straight shots off since there is 0 kick on it due to the weight. a pretty good way to judge the smoothness of a marker with no human error (if you want to) is hook it up to a rig that holds the gun in place and take shots at a board x feet away, the closer your extremes are, the "smoother" the shot.
