Just depends on your preference. They will fill a rotor the the top completely. Can be a little tricky to open sometimes but it takes practice and you have to put them in your pack a certain way so your thumb is right on the button when you pull out (my preference and most others). And they certainly do NOT come open on accident as long as they are completely closed.
I like them because they eject faster than normal pods (in my pack) and. They fill my rotor to the top.
Be weary though, some packs do not take so kind to the dye lock lids size, theyll stick/won't want to fasten correctly in some packs. Most are fine though.

I wouldn't spend money on em. Pods have a tendency to get lost, or even broken. You'd be crazy to spend more than $2 on each pod.
Also a little bias on my part - i hate pods with collars. Used locklids in one game during a tourney. I went to grab a pod, and the collar came clean off, paint spilling everywhere.

Correct there about the first part, II jut had some extra money and was like eh I'll give em a shot. Won't be using in tourneys though because they're too expensive.
And as for the second part i have 3 old dye lock lids that the collars like to twist off and I just glued them down. My newer ones don't even budge.

i use angel fatboy pods, i think they are 3.95 on some websites ( kinda rare nowa days ) but also on ebay. I've dropped them full of pant, no spill no breaks, I've dropped them while trying to get them out of my pack, no spill no breaks, and I've been using them for about 5 years now, still work like a charm. they are sealed tight but also open easily with a push of a thumb. i would recommend fatboy pods to anyone, never had one break, but i have lost some.

Get the 1-2 dollar pod, or if you're really convinced to get locklids at least get some used ones
