Who all still shoots a Gen4?
I've made some innuendo about releasing the G6R valve for the gen4 platform first. Because the gen4 has a valve hat already, it's pretty inexpensive for the end user if there is a drop in poppet solution. I just want to make sure people still have and enjoy these guns before dropping a bunch of coin on machining. Ripper3 owners, at least, could rejoice. The combination with the Eigenram should place a gen4 with this system at the head of the timmy class with regard to performance, above even a stock G6R. It also eliminates having to worry about purging the valve. I can't list prices, but I don't think my prices have ever been anything but fair to low.

I still shoot my Ripper 3. Had it out at Christmas time in cold weather and it was performing quite well. I don't really think I'll be tossing upgrades in it but if there was ever a generation that could benefit from what you're describing it's the Gen4. I'm not a fan of the lightened rams in the Gen4's because of how particularly finicky they were. I saw too many with valve float, but upgrading the valve would be a useful feature.

I'd be very interested in picking one up if it's different from what I tested for you, the main factor being price.

He doesn't have any solid plans to make them yet, he's determining how much interest there is in the product before spending the money to have them made. Could be weeks or it could be many months.

With how cheap they're getting these days, I may finally pick one up. I always loved the design of the body (my favorite looking markers actually), but I always heard of the valve issues.

What is a valve float? I read about valve purge, is it related to that? tnx

It's where the valve stays open. The gen4 has a separate, sealed off air chamber (the rocket cap) where the spring and most of the poppet reside. It reduces most of the force from the HPR that helps close the valve in other Intimidator models. In older models the spring AND the pressure from the HPR close the valve, in gen4's it's almost entirely the spring.
Float is the exact opposite of the issue related to purging (read below.)
When it was released they had a delrin cap/cup seal on the poppet, if air got past the cap into that chamber it took more force to open the valve (tension of the spring + compressing the air in the chamber.) The revised brass poppet eliminated that issue.

I still rock my ripper3 as well
Although since i put the eigenram into it i havet been able to use it, gun just doesnt like the lightened system.
The way the gun is stock (with brass poppet) i wouldnt change anything.

Yeah, the Gen4's were really finicky with lightened rams. They made a world of difference on the Gen3's but IMO weren't worth the hassles with the Gen4's....mostly due to the valve float issue.
