Games now start on Thursday?

So if I were to be playing d4 5 man race to, I will be playing Thursday AND Friday? Then also Saturday for finals if we make it is how I'm understanding it?

so just looked at the schedule and it looks like d4 7 man plays all games on thursday and then only the 2 top teams play saturday? is that seriously all that is being playing for d4 7 man?

There is no d4 7 man on saturday, your seeing d4 5man

ok, i see what that is. i thought it meant that d4 7 man winner 1 and winner 2 as in the top 2 teams playing saturday

well idk about other teams, but that is kinda ridiculous that in this thread it has been said multiple times that d4 7man would play thursday/friday and have finals saturday and now it seems like all d4 7man is thursday with nothing else for the event

The D4 finals will be saturday I believe. All games are Thursday, so it means that D4 does not need to be there Friday unless spectating. So basically D4 7man got screwed a day out of work or school for nothing

I could be wrong but someone needs to clarify that I guess.

thats what i am seeing. i am already in a **** load of trouble at work for needing wednesday-saturday off, and now if i didn't even need all that off then i got in a all that trouble for nothing. along with missing 2 days of class

would be nice if someone from the NPPL would come in here and confirm/clarify

and if you look at the schedule, there is nothing for d4 7man on any day other than thursday

Now that sucks and I would be real pissed. I probably would have not played the event if I was in your position.

Here is the email I sent the NPPL:

As a D4 player, I am very upset with the proceedings leading up to the current proposed schedule that was recently released. After years of playing prelims over the course of 2 days and emails stating that D4 prelims would be Thursday and Friday, they are now only Thursday. Furthermore, announcements from the NPPL appeared to attract D4 teams with the promise of playing on "Center Court", which I am assuming is NOT Field 2, which is where the schedule shows the D4 finals occurring. As if this were not enough, it shows that only 4 teams will be advancing, and the rules clearly state that in a division with over 11 teams the top 8 will advance to a quarterfinal round.

I understand the announcement that this is a preliminary schedule and I do sincerely hope that it will be fixed when the FINAL schedule is released. I love the NPPL and that is why I am so excited to play this event, but I want what I was promised. If not, I will be forced to seek legal help to reimburse my lost costs due to false claims on the behalf of the NPPL. The NPPL offers a service to me, perhaps even a product, and I want what I paid for.

K so I must admit I made a slight mistake, but most still holds. The D4 finals currently listed are only Race To, which means 7man doesn't even have finals currently. So somehow they need to take the top 8 D4 7man teams and figure out how to do finals. I sent another email suggesting quarter finals on Friday and then take Top 4 and somehow squeeze them in Center Court on Saturday.

im pretty sure they rushed through it,a lot of people were *****ing and complaining to get the schedule released,NPPL is just busy right now making sure everything is in order,i bet the last things on their mind is the schedules.so NPPL just put this out to quiet the people...i hope

ya, that is what i was saying earlier. it is kinda confusing cause it has that "d4 winner1/winner2" thing and i thought it meant only the top 2 out of d4 7man advance

Edit*** I don't like making reading mistakes, especially when I got a 36 (aka perfect) score on the reading section of the ACT and love to brag about it, but I did. I don't know if this makes things better or worse, but they could go either way depending on what the NPPL does. the D4 finals schedule posted is for Race To, and I interpreted it as 7man. This, however, means there is NO finals schedule currently posted for D4 7man. My suggestion that I emailed the NPPL was they could take top 8 and do quarterfinals on Friday, then squeeze the final 4 on Center Court on Saturday for finals. Problem solved!

There is the edit to my email after realizing the mistake.

I was just giving them something to work with. I think by preliminary schedule they meant the preliminary round of games, and this is their attempt at a final schedule. I will try to call tomorrow and see if I can get a hold of anyone.

thats what i was going to do too. but i have to try to keep all my guys in too right now cause they are all getting pissed and don't want to drop that much money to be there for 1 day of games

NPPL is now saying finals will be Sunday. I have my return flight Sunday as they announced D4 would be finished Saturday. Awesome news.
