That about sums it up. If you're going to get a new barrel, be sure to get one that allows for inserts, such as the Freak. That will give you better accuracy with your paint.

Obviously! That's why I said "this would be it WITH upgrades", meaning I would have the blue and black with the following upgrades!
Did you really think I thought it was an upgrade...smh!

The bolt that works in the Extcy needs to be the bolt for the Ion XE, not the regular Ion bolt.

Yes they do. What type of Ion bolt were you looking at getting?

The Ion and IonXE use the same bolts. The same goes with the G-1/SP-1/eNVy/Vibe.

Accuracy is questionable as it relies on the paintball more then the barrel. The better the ball quality, the better it will perform out of any barrel. This has been proven time and time again. I would say it would make your gun more efficient by underboring, but not accurate, unless your shooting fresh quality paint.

I have seen stainless burst. You have to remember that SS line is just an outerjacket over rubber/plastic line, so it can burst just as easy as macro. And it usually bursts right where the line meets the fitting. I used to work in an HVAC parts dept, and we would make custom SS hoses for Automags as well as HVAC applications. The inside of the SS jackets was a rubber hose and everytime one would fail it was 95% at the fitting.

Sure it is, it may not be a performance upgrade but it's an upgrade from the stock body. It's like painting flames on your car, it may not do anything for the performance but it makes the owner feel better about his ride. Samething in paintball, if Postman joins a team that uses black/blue as their team colors, then his gun will match his other accessories. Which is more of a psychological upgrade, meaning he will b more connected with his team.

They are the same bolt. I had an L-7 in my Ion, then upgraded to the XE with the conversion. The only difference was the rubber bolt stop was different, but the bolt is the same.

as said, bolts same, but bolt stop is different. Now the XE one will work with the extcy fine.
Love the tl7 in mine.. so far no issues at all. I did just order the 360qev and the silver body kit..

underboring adds about a pod or 2 for me... but a nice barrel goes well with good paint too. (id take a nice barrel investment>nice paint)
steel braided is more durable, but not invincible; i suggest macro because every place has it if you do wind up breaking it. if these do break i heard it can mess up your fittings into your reg/asa
the ion and XE are made compatible and the XE and extcy are compatible, so the original ion and extcy are compatible.

Just the bolt is the same, the bolt stop is different. If you order the Ion bolt kit for your GoG G1/Envy/Sp-1/Vibe, then your going to run into problems. You must get the Ion XE kit for the Sp-1/Vibe/Envy/G-1/Extacy.
