I have about 220 dollars to spend and im thinking about getting the DG E1! is that a good gun? what other guns could i get for around that price? And what barrel's could i put on it? Thank you!

You came any auto cocker threaded barrel on the e1. I recommend the GOG envy. Same thing as a vibe. If you get a black heart board and a new barrel you will love it.

The E1 isn't a bad option in that price range. It will be tough to get the E1 and a good barrel/barrel kit for $220 unless you buy used.

Don't forget that a quality mask is #1 priority. You will also want to upgrade the hopper/loader, but that can wait until you get more $.

The E1 is alright, the board is pretty unsatisfactory though, you have have your standard semi or full auto 25bps mode of death. As the guy said up above the GoG Extcy is your best bet.

^^your sig is praising GoG while your post hates... Back in the day i had an ion, bacicly the same as an envy, and it was solid. As far as barrels id go with a .685 cp 1 piece, bore could be different depending on local paint size.

Any barrel with AC threads will work great. I like the furious barrels the best.

DP E1 with a CP barrel will be in your price range, and be a great gun

dont get an envy, its a pointless buy: $200 gun, no board. extcy: $250 gun, comes with $80 board, some upgrades compared to envy.
GoG did a poor job pricing the envy, shouldve gone for like 150-175 imo; even if they downgraded a thing or 2.

but for a barrel i would suggest something bored, CP, freak, are very good. Although the difference between performance is next to nothing

DP e1 is a good gun but keep in mind mask first then hopper then tank THEN gun and a good barrel is a Custom Products i own three but don't use em cus i have an ifit but those alone are 160 and still need a good 100 dollar front

However, everything else is wrong. You can run with a cheap hopper and a steel tank for quite some time without any problems. I would suggest a nice brand new mask, then a gun, then buying a cheap used hopper, like a halo or something, then steel tank. When you get ready to "upgrade" you buy a new CF tank, then a new hopper.

However, you don't need a new barrel for awhile. If your gun isn't shooting ball-on-ball or shooting ropes or lasers then welcome to the reality of paintball.

Don't upgrade the barrel until you know what size paint your field is using yearly.

A barrel is only as good as the bore size compared to the paint you're using.

The E1 is an excellent first choice for a low end marker.

Stick to the stock barrel until you learn more about what you're doing; don't buy into the hype.

If need be, try to snag a new Lurker Paintball Eigenbarrel in .684 flavor. It's quite the perfect barrel considering the price range and build quality and design involved.

That being said, E1 isn't bad, but look at GoG guns like the eNVy or just snag a Smart Parts Vibe (same thing, ****tier electronics).


They're more versatile and will shoot/perform better than the E1.

That being said, they also have thousands of more options and parts available than the E1 does.


Like if you care to upgrade the gun, check out the Deadlywind Hollowpoint U3 bolt and a Clippard QEV (have teflon/plumber's tape on hand for this!).

With those, you'll garner some ridiculous efficiency which will make that 3000psi tank run like a 4500psi tank. (not really, but it will get a good 400+ shots from the same tank (using a 68/45 as comparison, but the effects are akin.)

If I had $220 I would look into these:
-DM5/6
-Shocker
^^ not the best starters due to maintenance requirements
-Very nice ION
^^ Taught my girl over Skype the maintenance, so very easy
-then I would look at DP


When I jumped back in the PB scene I heard horror stories left and right about DP. I won't touch them.. yet. I have also heard that the folks in the DP sub forum are bang on with helping each other out to fix the problems though.

^Yeah the DP forum can help with any issue.

The E1 really isn't the best marker. When Dp got bought out by Amazone, they pumped that out as an obvious hopeful cash grab.

I'd recommend the GoG markers, or older Bob Longs. Both are great to learn with. The SP Vibe/GoG Envy can even use a cheap $20 Co2 tank, if you can't afford a good HPA tank just yet.

That'll save you money for better gear or playing

There are a lot of great barrels that would fit the e1 because its autococker threaded. It also depends on what your price range is. Dye CF boomstick about $180. If you are looking for a way cheaper one I have to say the best one is the CP dynasty champions 2 piece barrel.
