The Virtue ROF-fi chip for the 2012 NPPL season is a quick and simple install into your paintball marker. Players attending NPPL HB will install the chips into their markers in a quick and simple process.
1) Remove your grips so that you have access to your solenoid connection.
2) Unplug your solenoid wire and plug it into the supplied 3 way splitter.
3) Plug the 3 way splitter into the solenoid port of your circuit board.
4) Plug the RF chip into the 4 pin connector on the 3 way splitter.
5) Now that everything is connected you just need to organize the wires so that it will fit in your grip frame with the closed grips. Try tucking wires up into any void space in the frame.
6) Do not put the RF chip into a area where it will be completely surrounded by metal as it will effect signal strength.
Yeah the Axe is much more about managing the space available in the fore grip.
I'd compare it to trying to fit an Xball team with gear into a van made for 10 people. Maybe you can do it but there isn't going to be much space for breathing.
I know I've seen it but cannot find it. How many chip will a team get. I remember there being a limit.

Yeah 5-man teams would get 5 chips. Doesn't make much sense for the league to hand out free extra chips to some teams and not others.
The Axe install isn't to bad just a bit more careful with everything wires/chips due to limited space. I had hoped to have a video of that up before HB but due to delay in shipping it doesn't seem like it will be happening.

I am sorry, I will try and get on that today.

I emailed the Nppl and Valerie emailed me back and told me that if you plan on playing 7man your team will get 9 chips and any additional will be $60.
I talked with her over a month ago and maybe they have changed how many they are giving out but that was last i was told. Guess we will all find out at HB. lol

I haven't seen the chip installed in an Axe yet. Are they putting them in the grip or the fore-grip? Would make more sense to me to put them in the grip, that's where the solenoid is, plus it's not surrounded by %100 metal.

Haa Raymond don't worry. I'm hoping something will arrive today in the mail. If not it's cutting things close to the departure to HB.
There most likely is 9 chips for 7-man teams. I'm not the NPPL staff and i was just going off the understanding that each marker on the field will need a chip hence the amount of chips I mentioned.
I'm sure that Valerie has the info 100% correct since she is NPPL staff.
I Belive HB was the only Event they were given out.. After That you have you buy them and I cant recall if they are 45 or 60 I dont honestly know why you would need them tho or an ID but hey i Got em both but Nppl doesnt do anything withem really...
You get the chips with paid entry to any NPPL event. The amount of chips depends on what format you are playing (5 man/7 man) After sign in you goto the virtue booth to pick them up and have your team added to the database. Install on an Axe took about 45 minutes to do all 10 XSV guns, mileage may vary for you an your teams markers. You can do it right at the virtue booth or just pick them up and install yourself at the hotel, just make sure you know who's chip is who's and goes to what marker because the wireing harness is different for several of the markers.

My player accidentally played 4 games on friday with no chip in his gun. These chips literally do nothing and the NPPL or virtue doesnt check for them at all. I guess they just needed a way to justify the 300$ increase this year.

I get why they make you use the chips because i think thats pretty cool how you can see how many shots were fired or how fast you were shooting, but ive had them run over in Nppl and say whos ever Brandon ******** your shooting 19bps and you do it the next point thats a major but you look at your gun and the gun says your capped at 14 bps its like hmmm ok w/e then in Chi-town (honest mistake) Teamates gun is on uncapped ramping he notices after the first point and no refs or anyone comes over and says anything (still switched it over to semi capped tho) but its like they dont care about your ID or Chip unless your pro thats just my view
