Photo/Video at Nationals

I didn't want to take over the other users thread, so I created my own. I wanted to make sure before I purchased a plane ticket if I'm under the same understanding as previous years (and what I've been told by college teams) that I am free to enter the field as I wish to video and photograph teams.

Assuming I'm allowed and that flights aren't $300+ from Philly, I plan to do some interviews of players from many teams that I am familiar with, as well as take photographs of any and every team that I can fit within the time I'm there.

You need to contact CFP, and Chris and request permission and TOS for shooting the event.

They've been pretty relaxed about shooting, but with the PSP thing I'm sure a little more background check will be needed. However, Chris has always welcomed photographers.

We are very, very strict on who can shoot video of the National Championships due to the TV contract. We're going to want copies of your footage and you're going to have to agree to only use your footage in very limited ways.

Photographers I'm generally accomodating - you have to sign a waiver and agree that NCPA gets to use photos for publicity/promotion purposes.

I figured that was the case and by no means do I have a problem with submitting a copy of my footage back to the NCPA. I plan to use them in a different sense. Although I'm not fully understanding of your definition of "limited ways", I don't anticipate that being an issue. Could you email me the terms of your agreement with videographers? mikemacris(at)gmail(dot)com

Again, I have no problem allowing the NCPA to use any of my photographs for publicity or promotional purposes; that's one of the ways the sport will grow by sharing images and videos from events nationwide.
