I'm looking into buying a tahoe but all the ones with decent mileage are out of my price range. I'm wondering how many miles you have on your tahoes and what problems you've ran into getting them to that mileage. also what is the highest mileage a tahoe could have for you to not buy it.

What kind of mileage do you consider decent? A lot of my buddies have GMT800 vehicles with a lot of miles and I haven't heard of any catastrophic problems. All my friends with GMT900s have much lower mileage though.

I got a 99 4x4 4 door with 126k.

Only things that I had to do other than u-joints and whatnot was the intake gasket and fuel pump.

My buddies grandfather has the same tahoe as me and currently has 280k on the original motor/tranny

On the LS motors I've only really seen intake gaskets fail, other then that it's just the basic 4wd failure items front end parts and u joints.

Since it's more or less the same vehicle as the truck, expect misfiring problems in the engine. If it's a big V8, the transmission is the same one shared with other engines. In other words, it's too weak. Sensors go bad, and often.

Basically, the same **** that goes wrong on most cars, over time. Just drive one. If it drives well and everything checks out, well, I'd rather have a good condition 100k mile car than a bad, beat up 30k mile car.

We've got an 02 2wd Suburbans with 200 on it. The fuel pump went once, and other than that just maintenance stuff.

I had an '02 Yukon. Needed a new transmission at 99k miles. So there's that.
