I started back in 04-05, beginning of high school. Eventually became a few times a month, a group of us just going to local fields and playing. Now, about eight years later, just getting back into it. Played both speedball and woods ball.
One of the first few games made my decision for me. A little background, it was a 5v5, and ended up me against their last man. I was running with my friends low end marker, the other guy was decked out in sponsored gear, with I think it was like a ego. But basically the fact that I held my own and actually got him out, that was it. Hooked. Other things that pulled me in was it just was something to do on the weekends, great way to spend a day outside. My friends and I just had a fun playing. I’m being pulled back in now because I have friends playing for teams, friends brother is a pro. Got that itch again.

Hmm...
This is a little bit not good! In paintball, anger becomes your worst enemy, especially because you're carrying a weapon that can do some serious damage to someone. I don't know, but I don't think anger is a welcome emotion in this sport!

My boss was having a game at his house and invited me. Before I even played my first game, I bought an 03 Spyder Imagine kit and spent about $300 more in upgrades and an Egg2.
I still have that day all on video tape.

After I got out of football I couldn't find anything that had the intensity that the sport had or made me feel the passion that I felt when I played. A close friend was describing paintball to me one day and said "Nowhere else in this world will you find the adrenaline that comes with shooting at a person and them shooting back at you unless you are a soldier at war." Needless to say I was interested and from the second I saw it played, I knew I wanted to try it. I now play for The University of Alabama's tournament team and love playing this sport more and more everyday.

My cousin invited me to his 10th birthday party to go and play ..I had never played before and was scared out of my mind ..somebody was going to shoot me. Needless to say, it was the most fun I'd ever had, and me and him both fell in love with the sport .. we played Woodsball/open group for about 3 years off and on, then moved on to the advanced X-Ball group on Sundays ..If I hadn't been hooked already ..I was now. Weekend after weekend, playing and playing and playing ..buying and selling guns and gear, making friends and enemies as well. Paintball became my life. Then last year, I got into tournament ball and sadly, right at the end of the season, moved over here to Germany. Season starts on the 31st though, so I don't feel so bad anymore.
Anyways, paintball is awesome.. it'll get you money, power, fame and girls.

A friend of mine took me to a really nice woodsball field nearby, I had a great time, got totally hooked, but didn't really think anything of paintball being a sport. I really fell in love with the game as I stumbled across the Chicago PSP finals of last year. BRL versus Dynasty. I saw the game in a new way, and wanted to play it in a new way. Less than a year after my first time playing, I play for a team, am sponsored by Dye, and my first tournament is five weeks away. P.G.O.D. baby.

Started in 1995 when I was 15 maibnly for a hobby and a sport outside of high school sports which my school sucked at. Played pump for a year and then bought my first automag and from then on it was all about taking anger out on others. Started playing tournaments and from then on was just a great hobby for many years. Now only play on occasion, but I can say that I played with some great players such as Eric Dearman, Jason Green, and others. It was fun while it lasted.

I had just tried almost every other sport (rugby, football. basketball, football, baseball, lacrosse, soccer etc) and wanted to add it to my roster. Glad I did too, because it is the most exhiliarating and most awesome sport of them all. I just wish I had more time & money to play...

I got into it cause i wanted to try smething new. I had a buddy that played and started playing with him. I bought a beat up spyder compact 2 in 1 and went from there. The first time i got shot was point blank in the thigh. Ever since that day i have been addicted. I have long moved on from that spyder but i miss it. She treated me good for the time that i had her.

About 10 years ago, I was invited to friend's birthday party, playing paintball. I was so nervous cause I didn't know much about the sport and didn't know how much it was gonna hurt. After a whole day of woodsball, I was so excited to play again. But because I didn't know many people who went frequently, I never played again until about 8 years later, when I found out a cousin of mine was pretty active in the sport. He was able to lend me one of his many markers to use. We played a couple of woodsball games, then went on to speedball. After my first game of speedball, I was so pumped that I went online and bought my first marker and slowly got my gear. I wanted to give back my cousin's marker that he lent to me, but he insisted that I keep it. Thanks cuz for getting me into this sport.
