Stingray - threading for 1/8 NPT

I was looking at getting a couple of Stingrays to use on a project, and was just wondering if anybody knew the diameter of the the front internal gas line hole. I'd like to remove the gas tube/donkey and bore out & thread the hole for macro fittings.

I've never seen a stingray outside of photos, nor had a chance to disassemble one. Is the gas inlet block thick enough and with enough metal to do so - or am I wasting my time?

Update: Bit the bullet and got one to try it out... hole was exactly the right size, threaded just fine.

Sorry, just recently saw this, but yeah, the transfer tube hole is just the right size to thread for 1/8" NPT, and the pot steel the valve is made of is nice and soft, making this possible... which I guess you know.
Here's a gun I customized this way in order to delete the transfer tube, donkey, and some of the plastic to save on weight and improve the bottom line hose position.
