50 cal or not
Hey guys i was having some questions about 50cal. So im sitting here looking over all the info for 50cal and im starting to want to practice with it. Here is my logic if you can kill people off the break with 50 cal you will dominate with 68, bc the distance thing right? or am i completely off? The reason i ask this is i have been looking to pick up 50 cal for awhile now just to try and see what i think of it. I only play xball, so would this be a good investment?
I know there has been a million threads about random stuff like this but i have to ask.
Also from what you can tell is it better to buy a 50cal gun or is it better to get an ego and get the conversion kit? which shoots better from what you can tell?
Im not looking for the thoughts of some random dude that decided to read the 50 cal thread im looking to ask the people that own a 50 cal gun and play xball.
Thoughts?
also whats the best paint to shoot, as in whats the best bang for your buck

I dont think .50 will do very well on laning. between the distance issue and the lengthening of the PSP regulation field you will create more issues for your game then you will solve.
even if you able to get people with the .50, due to the arch you will need to get your shots down to the other end you will end up shooting high when you switch back to .68.
if your going to play with it , then go ahead. if you are going to use .68 in the tourneys dont practice with .50, especially if you play back.

Honestly, I think .50 cal is alright.. however I dont think paintball needs to be split anymore then it already is.. its just starting to get to a point where its kind of standard.....
Lets not separate our community anymore!
pick one and stick with it!

epic fail..
If 50cal wants to make it better get the price per ball down to Airsoft BB prices then focus on entry level gear. until then its just a waste of virtual ink.

50 cal is good for young players that want to try the sport without the impact of the .68 I saw a few young players about 13 years old and they where having a blast in the hyperball fields with the 50cals.

Our field had thought about getting 50 cal just for the real young players or those who wanted to try it and were afraid of the potential pain involved.
it comes down to only a small percent actually wanting to use it, and then the cost of stocking product for it. just is not a smart business move for us personally.
i like the idea, just not for us (or most fields).

From what I've seen I do not think 50 cal will catch on either. Trying to break into an established market (.68) will only be met with resistance especially when that guy with a brand new Dm 11 or other new gun will hate having to buy a conversion kit or new gun altogether just to use 50 cal paint. I think the change would have to be very gradual at first, and would need to have significant benefits over .68 to truly be successful.

Happy that I have an ego that can use .50 if I wanted to. Only problem is that I have to buy paint online and I'm not the biggest fan of that, from experience. It's fun and really takes away the pain, and is great for suppressive fire too
