Front gate addresses?
This may seem like an odd question, but does anyone happen to know of a list of addresses for front gates for bases? My wife works with a company that does directory assistance and driving directions for a large automotive manufacturer. Their system is pretty good, but they get a lot of calls for folks trying to find Fort Dixiecup, or Feathers Air Force Base, and the like. Since bases are like little cities unto themselves, their system doesn't have directions on how to get someone from where they are to the base itself. I'd told her than front gates would be the way to go for that, but I've been out of uniform a LONG time, and don't have much in the way of contacts anymore.
OPSEC being what it is (although bases locations aren't much of a secret), if anyone's got this data but doesn't want it floating around on here, I'm always available by PM. Hopefully we can help some people not get lost on their way to their bases.
Edit - Only looking for bases in the States. The system doesn't seem to play well with other countries, so I wouldn't need anything for FOB Nutscratch in Kandahar.

I would always use google earth, find the location on there and use the first major off ramp to said base.

There's gotta be some sort of database with these out there. I've never had trouble using my GPS to navigate to or around a base or post. I've driven cross country using my GPS and staying at different military locations all using my GPS.

Type base name in google maps, the street names on the base are listed BUT I tried the address for my last command and it wouldn't pull up.

I think typically, the base roads are official town/city roads, so that's why it's not coming up. I would use whatever the main road is outside the primary gate and use the closest housing/address numbers to that location. I do however, think it's a bad idea to post it up blatantly. Regardless of how easy it may be to find in other places *Don't be THAT guy*

Yep, that's one of the reasons I wouldn't have any interest in foreign soil bases. Not only is that outside the realm of the system, but nobody not wearing the uniform needs that knowledge.
We could go through base by base and come up with something via Google Earth/Maps. I'm hoping we won't have to. If there's an existing list, that makes this a plug and play problem. If it's something that involves sitting down with a list of bases, a computer, and a free weekend, it becomes a back burner problem to be solved when time and terrain allow.

Most Army bases will have it on the site with a list of all the entrances to post.
Under the visitors section they generally have a directions page/arrivals page with the physical address. Hope this kinda helps!

The easy way, if there were one, would be to go search usmc.mil or army.mil... and hope they have what you're looking for.
the hard way would be to get the phone numbers to each base in America, call their PMO/MP office, and get all of the street addresses that way, base by base.
