I'm enjoying this thread, I have about 450 to put into a gun and etha was one of my choices, any other ideas?

One last note, the Etha does not shoot reballs. I hope PE release parts/upgrades that allow it to work with reballs, but as of now, it does not.[/quote]
I saw a guy at my local reball field and it was working just fine with reballs, the only problem he had was his rotor

i think everyone is wandering off topic a bit.
the question is asking how the etha shoots like
I.E trajectory like an axe but has a punch back recoil like a stock ego 7 with stock rammer.
i think the OP was looking for a description. or atleast thats what im looking for
and saying that its awesome for a sub 500 dollar gun is not a good response as well...

trajectory should be the same across all guns shooting the same FPS. What I noticed is that since the gun is shorter(height wise) than an ego(stack tube guns), you tend to aim higher naturally. Thus it creates a "flatter" flight path.
As for shooting, ya ego7 with stock rammer sounds able right. The Etha might have a little less feedback/barrel rise when you 1 ball. But ramping, it is about the same as the Ego7. This is exactly the way I like the gun.
The gun's composite frame is hardly noticeable. The black color also help to hide the fact that the frame is composite. I think it feel great in my hand.
You won't be disappointed by the gun. I think it is worth every penny.

An Etha has wayyyyy more kick than the Axe. Both are accurate guns, however the Etek is probably the safer choice if you are going PE.

I have had a axe, mini and now the etha and if u brake them in right non of them should have barrel rise (or kick). The only thing the etha has is a clicking or pinging sound when it shots.

It's funny because the time I have spent shooting mine I haven't noticed any pinging noise when shooting. I'll give a better idea after galveston.

Maybe the person has the myth regulator 1 GA tank. Those things made tons of pinging noises when you were shooting.
I love the people coming in here and talking about how straight the marker shoots compared to other markers. You can always tell when someone is talking about of their *** when they make a comment like that. As soon as you hear them say something like that you can assume they have no clue what they're talking about and add their posts to ignore.
Paintball=hype; you wanna know how it shoots? Shoot it.

I actually shot one last weekend, new and straight outta the box. And I would say it didnt have kick, but you could DEFINITELY feel the spring and the vibration/tinge through it. I shoot a Geo2 and shooting that made my gun seem odd. And when I was off the field i could hear the person shooting and it sounded smooth, but when you actually shoot it just feels hard on the ball.

But that is on the return stroke, when the bolt is being returned to its rest position. Not on the forward stroke when it's pushing the ball forward into the breech.
The heavier bolt spring actually reduces the forces acting on the paintball.

Jack short question, why no aluminum bolt and lets say copper spring or so?
Wouldnt that reduce kick?

sorry..read his post wrong..i thought he meant why the marker felt "hard" (referring to the recoil) when shooting.
with what you said i would assume that is a bad idea to go to lighter return spring

Yes, a lighter bolt and lighter spring could both be detrimental to the guns ability to shoot fragile paint. Reducing the weight and adding a lighter spring would increase the bolt speed on the forward stroke. This added bolt speed could lead to fracturing of the ball being loaded.
We also chose not to use an aluminium bolt due to potential wear issues with the bolt spring, the breech and the bolt guide.

Agreed, people need a physics class 300fps is 300fps, NO MATTER WHAT GUN IS LOBBING THE BALL, trjectory is a myth. Pointability, is what i think most people are seeing, someone put this one to rest with a good physics test...

The Etek line is nice however those markers are loud as hell, The Etha is quiet.
Also, for those saying the Etha has just a massive amount of kick, I don't believe you. I shot my Etha for the first time yesterday and put 2 hoppers full through it. It doesn't have that much kick you whiners. I've been playing since 1996 and have owned and shot so many Paintball markers. This gun doesn't have that much kick.
Besides i think alot of people are forgetting that this marker is an entry level gun. It's not meant to be shot/played like a high end marker.
