Why are we even considering that there will be a major movie, or even an indie movie, about paintball when there isn't **** for any of the more established sports that are considered "extreme" or whatever the **** they are?

Movies are always going to do things like this to make it entertaining for everyone. Do you think in this means war that if he threw a paintball grenade in and then it just did what actual paintball grenades do and everyone was just like "k im out" that it would've been a good scene? Of course not, the point of that scene was supposed to be funny and it was.

At least paintball is still getting some wide exposure! I'd rather it be a crappy depiction than noone ever talking about paintball. Hopefully things will get better for the sport

I think its on CSI:Miami but i could be wrong. they were professional players who were murded on the field. they wore completly legit pro JT speedball gear. the only thing was they were in an ally/warehouse so it was kinda of like a scenerio type arena. and sense it was dark, the paint in there pods lit up..im sure thats real somewhere right? the pro players on the teams had there on clubs, and honestly looked and acted like pro basketball or football players. had they been on an actual airball field, i would have given the makers of a show 5/5 in making the sport look like the sport it is

I don't think we'll ever see a fair representation of the sport of paintball in movies or on TV.
- Dialog: it's not impossible to do dialog without taking off masks, but you're asking "actors" to emote without being able to see anything but their eyes behind the mask. Good luck finding Hollywood stars/starlets with that kind of talent.'
- Action sequences: with a little training (say 3 months with a pro team), "actors" could quite possibly get the look and feel for playing paintball, sufficient for stunt doubles to do the real sliding/diving/etc
- Suspension of disbelief: without a good team of pro consultants, Hollywood will probably punt and try to imagineer the sport to fit the cast's abilities (or lack thereof) .
- I'd hate for our sport to (a) be taken seriously as a sport, but (b) be relegated to "guest starring" in movies/TV as the subplot, like in "This Means War"; to do that right, they should use backdrops like the NPPL tournaments where "real" paintball is being played, even if the characters in the movie/TV show are n00bs.

I think if they made a movie where paintball wasnt the main part of the movie. maybe if it was something the main character did, like he was a pro player or somthing. the movies plot would be based on events that had nothing to do with paintball. people would see the movie for that interesting plot not paintball but they would see paintball and they wouldnt make it ****ing stupid. it would capture all the epicness of a national event

I don't know my paintball history enough to suggest a good team, but I think a "Lords of Dogtown" style docudrama set around the time period when professional play was just starting might be interesting.
