How does an AT work?

So I'm looking around for an AT for my dye hinge but I can't figure out the mechanics as to how the AT works.
I realize I hold the trigger and every pump actuates a shot but.. how?
With the trigger being pulled the sear is open but how does the cam both cocks and shoots?

the at cam has a flat spot in the pin that goes through the frame, when the pump handle is fully forward the flat is facing forward and the trigger can be pulled far enough to release the sear. as you pull the pump handle back the cam causes the pin to rotate and the trigger cannot go as far back.

there for as your holding the trigger when you pump it the at pin pushes the trigger forward far enough to cock the gun, then as you are pulling it forward it releases at whatever point your hammer is set at. this is where timing the AT comes in.

lmk if thats too confusing

thanks - so basically it's just tripping the sear?
and it shoots once the pump stroke is fully released?

no, bassically its moving the trigger out far enough to cock the gun and then when your going back forward it lets the trigger comeback far enough to release the lug

AS far as getting one to fit your dye frame, i dont think it will happen. GAT makes a AT kit for the hinge frames but i think the dye frame is one of the few it wont work on. Check out GATs website for more info

I contacted them and they are looking into a solution. I don't want to replace my trigger either. I might have to get a slider to match the anno.
Thanks again for the help
