Laser jammers are not illegal in many states... even if they are, there are loopholes and methods to prevent any problems.
Radar jammers are illegal everywhere.

Correct. Radar is the speed of sound, which is a radio frequency. The speed of sound is measured in frequency, which is measured in Hertz. Radio frequencies are regulated by the FCC which is why it is illegal to jam radar. Conversely, LIDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) is the speed of light. LIDAR is not regulated by anyone which is why there are no national laws that outlaws the jamming of LIDAR. Some states have passed laws the to outlaw the jamming of lidar (Texas, California, Washington DC) because of members of government who have knowledge of jammers and how they work. Even so, I know plenty of people who have been operating jammers for many years in states where they are illegal and have not had problems.

most cops hide behind trees and other objects, and point their guns perpendicular to the road... if the detector picks it up, isnt it already too late?

The key is always having someone to follow. That way your detector will pick it up when they hit the guy in front of you.
Think I'm gonna order an X50 black and a straight cord sometime soon

You are asking a question that has been answered several times in this thread. It's simple: read.

Only detectors worth purchasing are Valentine 1, Escort, and Bel.
If you want laser, radar, and camera detection, get an Escort 9500ix.

Either you're trolling or you're actually serious...I can't tell.
Do not purchase anything from Rocky Moutain Radar. Their products do not work AT ALL. Google their name and you will see lots of law suits.

Thinking of offering $200 for this. I'd have to ask him if it's got everything that comes with a new one other than the power cable. Good deal? http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/f...-detector.html

I think I'm going to upgrade to a V1 or 9500i once I get my x50 sold.

My GPS had camera locations so I have no need for that.. Purchased a x50 the other day and have not regretted it at all.

So is that V1 better than the x50?
I couldn't find too many in-depth comparisons.

It seems to be personal preference between the two.
