Fusion F7 fps questions
Ok so I picked this marker up recently and pretty much rebuilt the whole thing. It had reg creep issues so I bought a parts kit. I put the new style hpr piston and adjustment screw, new shims lubed it all put it back together replaced the shims in the lpr new orings lubed them all and put it back together. I put new eyes in it and a new noid. This gun is all stock except for a lurker ram. Today I bottomed out the regs when I got to my field aired it up set my hpr to 250 psi and turned it on turned the eyes off and it shot with the lpr bottomed out. I turned it out probably 1 1/2 turns and went to the chrono. The fps was extremely low I turned the lpr out more until the lpr was almost touching e c clip and the fps was still only around 230ish. I had to increase the hpr to 295ish to get up to 275 fps. It shot fine all day but just doesn't seem right that I can't run it at 250 or below to get my desired fps. Any thoughts?

Not 100% here but since everything is new in the gun essentially you need to rebreak the gun in to get it to loosen up again. What type of lube are you using on it? Something don't sound right though with the lpr at the c-clip though someone will come along with more experience on the f7 and school me as well but those are the first things that come to mind for me. Also are you using an hp or lp tank coming into the reg?

I was thinking that maybe it needed to be broke in again, but it still didn't sound right to me either. As for the tank I'm not sure exactly I wish I had an asa with a gauge because I bought the tank off a guy used and he didn't tell me weather it was hp or lp it is a pure energy 68/45

the tank wont effect fps unless its outputting less than 250psi but sense the hpr gauge reports 250psi then we dont need to worry
a bad tank might make the gun have shootdown but lets focus on the crono first
have you relubed the noid, valve, valve pin, ram and both regulators?
would be wise to do so, and do the valve flip mod.
make sure the shim stacks are correct. info on how to do all this can be found in the stickies at the top of this forum.
you may need to try 260psi to get the marker to work. I remember mine only needed 230psi and would do 290fps with the lpr about halfway out. it was very consistent. It was all stock expect for the ram and valve pin, they were lurker parts. If anything, they would require more psi.

When I originally rebuilt both regs I lubed them with sl33k and was fairly liberal with it. As for the noid I didn't do anything to it but take it out of the parts kit and install it. All of the whims are correct. I do have the lurker RAM but I beleive its the stock valve pin its not gold.

you might want to try 260psi then.
it would be a good idea to lube the noid first. that noid might have sat in that kit on a shelf sense 2008 for all you know. sitting for years plus dp lube = bad idea.
would also be a good idea to order a gold valve pin from lurker. the stock one might break due to high pressure being needed to drive the lightweight ram.

Yeah just got schooled again by firefoxx04 lol but all good points I did the valve flip and I am getting ready to order the ram and poppit for both my f7's next week from lurker I am running about 240-260psi in mine currently with about half out on the lpr and shooting consistantly in the 285-290fps range +/-3fps

^ thats how it should be acting
with the lpr about half way, i tended to get the best consistency with a low amount of kick.

Well I just aired up my f7 and it was sitting around 260ish im not sure why it's showing 260 today and was showing 300 all day yesterday when I haven't made any changed to the gun since yesterday. So I threw a pod in it and it shot exactly how it was shooting yesterday my lpr is still almost touching the c clip though. I'll lube the noid and look into ordering a lurker valve pin. Wish I had a chrono at home though

300 is too much pressure imo. if its at 260 today, makes me think you need to go over the reg
does it have the red piston?

Yeah 300 is way too high on the noid its almost at the failing point there but since dp made them indestructable you can rebuild it easy if it should fail. I am in agreement with firefoxx04 here sounds like a reg issue something isn't right there it is having stick issues or something.

ive never used sleek. i hear good things about it but also hear that it is just regular dow33.
i my self would use lurker lube on the noid. Thats what i always used on dp noids to great success.
if i have to go over a noid in the future, it will be with violent pb jelly. stuff is amazing.

You should use only a greese lube. Sl33k is just fine to use if that is what you have.

So I'm still having problems with getting my fps up to 280 without setting my hpr to almost 300 and my lpr almost all the way out I changed out the noid at the field today and reset everything and still had the same outcome. Any thoughts?

If the HPR is showinf almost 300 but the marker won't hit 280 fps, would that indicate it is something after the HPR messing up? Sounds like the air is at speed when it gets to the HPR, so thinking something after right?

Yeah I'm not exactly sure I've tried everything I can think of ive cleaned and relubed regs multiple times always made sure the shims were correct. Used two different noid both are newly lubed recleaned and lubed ram and valve pin numerous times

Sorry I'm not helpful. I'm thinking though. I have an F7 too and trying to think what would cause it...maybe an oring a little too big or swollen, slowing the bolt? Just throwing out random thoughts...
