military healthcare cost increase

http://m.examiner.com/conservative-i...-union-workers

so obama is going to take even more money from the military. hr is more worried about getting re elected than what our country and military needs right now.

Old news. I knew about this months ago, and it was the Pentagon that recommended it.

Well the goal of raising the Tricare-for-life cost is to convince the veterans to use other insurance.

The goal of raising the Tricare Prime costs... is, well, to decrease the government cost.

They are changing the deal they made with people who serve/d. I think it is crap, but in the big picture it isn't a bad deal. The TricarePrime premiums are still extremely cheap, irregardless of the quality of medical treatment you get. Last I heard Tricare for Life annual premiums were only 1200.

Also to note: the guy without dependents on AD will still pay nothing.

When I heard they were going to cut defense spending...I thought they meant defense contractors, mass spending on developing NEW future tech, cut wasteful spending such as embassies in countries that hate us, and overall cut out a lot of the spending. I didn't realize it meant unemploy over 8 brigades worth of Soldiers then cut the remaining Soldiers' benefits. Pay raises are slated for the next 2-years, but will be dropping off after that as well.

Oh - but not touch the civilian/union sector's benefits at all.

Those were my thoughts as well. I figured we'd see a lot less contractors running about and new tech being developed. Nope.

The Navy has become a business, especially Navy Medicine. It is smart in some aspects from what I have seen, for long term, but it does kill some good careers early. Acronyms run the Navy now...
