Its leaking from the noid/manifold area. I have followed the leak guide, swapped out all the orings for the manifold/noid/and back of the lpr. Heres the kicker!
I have swapped noids/ and manifolds every combo of them I can think of. All of the noids/manifolds work great in other bodies but in this body there seems to a leak coming from one side of EVERY noid and manifold combo I put in there.
Aside of just throwing away the body scraping my build does anyone have any Ideas as to why this damn thing is leaking?
Appears to be between the manifold's and the noids but only in that body. If you are looking down at the top of the noid with the back of the gun pointed at your chest the leak is on the right side. I may have to get a body from you. This is a first for me; mechanically this doesn’t make any sense.
if it's between the noid and the manifold then it shouldn't be body independent as you know. your bolt kit is consistent and your lpr too (swapped between the bodies so you know those aren't variables)? if you have a gasket with some lube, and your screws are tight enough, you should be solid. The only other thing is if your frame is putting pressure on the noid i've had leaks due to that, but if you know it's b/w the noid/manifold you probably have the frame off anyways
I know that the weird part, I can take the exact same manifold and noid and put them in my Image and no leaks. I can also take the noid and manifold out of the Ironmen and put them in the Dye body and it leaks. I dont get it. Maybe the body is bent somehow? I would assume that isnt the case as I can completely build the gun with out any issues. Unless the body is bent where the noid is, but that just seems crazy.
Well if your different combos of noids and manifolds all leak in that body, but not in others it should stand to reason that the body is to blame. Sounds odd to me that the different combinations would work in other bodies, but not that one without it being the body.
Are there any dings or scratches near the manifold mount?
K i Will try that. The orings that are in there now are new, I still have old ones so I will swap them all around between two guns and see. If that doesnt work Im in the market for a stock DM, I gotta get reannoed yellow and blue (wolverine) for my little bro. He is coming back from Afganistan soon.
Nope that was a no go, Still leaks. It leaks as if there are no orings on the manifold at all. Like if you took off the gasket on the noid and the 2 orings between the body and the manifold... I bout to say f it and just buy another one.
I saw this problem with an early trix. The area under the manifold was slightly dimpled. I found it by placing a straight edge angled across the area where the manifold mounted. I got it fixed my having a friend run the area under his surface grinder. It left was left bare metal but the leak went away.
