Questions AMP Illusion

Can anyone tell me which mounting thread the feed has? (Ion, Shocker,...)

Which Valve is build in in the AMP Illusion? I heard that this could be an normal Valve from a Spyder Blowback?

Is it necessary to use a Reg to easier chroning in?

What kind of Ball Dentents are used? (Cocker?)

Which other Bolt i can use? (Cocker?)

I hope you can give me a answer to my questions.

Sincerely, Bjoern.

It uses angel threaded feednecks.

It has it's own unique valve, there's no other valve available for it to my knowledge.

You can use a reg, but it will need to be high pressure reg as they're set to run on an input pressure of around 750~800. A reg can make it both more consistent and easier to chrono.

It uses standard cocker detents.

It uses a unique bolt length. The pin & backblock system is the same as a Pre-2k cocker bolt, but the length of the bolt is slightly longer. You'll encounter problems if you try to use a Pre-2K bolt in there.

Hope that answered all your questions.

the bolt is a nice half delrin one, so replacing it is unnecessary.

Ok, the Bolt Question is cleared.

So that a Reg isn´t necessary, i wil not install one.

Ball Dentents will be appointed tomorow.

But if the AMP has a own unique valve, where could i buy one?

you cant buy one. there may be other valves which are compatible in dimensions, I'm not sure though. I made a custom low turbulence HP valve for my illusion, minor improvement in efficiency. there is not really any need to replace the stock valve though. seriously, the Illusion is basically flawless in its stock form, there is no need for internal changes.

Yup, like APoC & CP both have said already there's not much need to replace anything on the illusion. The bolt & valve are great as they are. The only things I did to mine when I had it were swap the ball detents (because the old ones were blown) & add a palmer stabilizer running at 750psi (because I'm anal & like running a reg on EVERY marker I own).

How do you lube/oil the Illusion? I always use silicon oil which do not damage the o-rings. I don´t use any kind of Dow 33, Hater Sauce, or anything like that. What´s the best for the Illusion?

um, it has a delrin bolt and you really dont need to lube it. For myself, i just used some gold cup and ran it through the asa and it shot just fine.

Another Question by using a Reg:

How have i to adjust the adjusting screw at the Illusion? Full in? Full out? At the middle?

I think i will use a Reg, cause of the handling.

to chrono it. turn the valve screw all the way in. then bring it out 1 turn at a time until it shoots in the range you are looking for.

about October i will have some high flow brass valves for illys. i may also make some low turbulence ones for efficiency. cup seals should also be available.

the illy would make a great LP gun, lots of hammer mass and throw for efficient LP valve firing... but its already a flawless HP gun, so flawless in fact I have no intention of ever converting mine. its light with its simple setup too, with a CF barrel on there its the absolute top choice for snappy shootin on the field.

I agree with ApoC - the Illusion is a fantastic gun. There's really no need to mess with success. I have one of the original run of the Illusion Pro, and it's never given me a day of grief.

Another Question:

When i pump and release a shoot, the pump grip (and also the Backblock) moves a little bit backwards.

Is this normal?
How can i fix it? (Harder or longer Spring?)

Is this a normal behavior fpr the Illy?

The slight blow back is normal you could put a stronger return spring, but I wouldn't recommend it.

That little bit of blowback isn't uncommon for Sniper-type guns. Hold your pump handle forward when you shoot. If you've got the chance, try chronographing with both methods (holding and not holding) and see what happens. I'll bet you get different velocities.
