Need Help Finding A Solid Back-up Gun!!!!!!!!!!กกกกกกกกก
Just got a sweet regal Ego 11 part swapped with a shiner 2. Whew, it is beautiful. However, in the event that my ego goes down, I was wondering if anyone had a solid back up marker they would say to get. Based on the fact that it should be kinda cheap, still good quality, and most importantly not a huge downgrade like my back up marker is now. Thanks for your help guys.
Also, yes I do know that Eclipse guns are manufactured superbly, and are usually tanks when it comes to wear and tear. Not to mention very easy to maintain. The second I start thinking that I will never need a new gun is when it is going to crap out on me, it always ends up happening.

I have a ETEK 3 that backs up my GEO2. It shoots like an Ego 07/08.

Etek, axe, used 07-09 ego. Those are your best bets if you want to stick with a poppit.

The best "backup" gun is a gun that doesn't go down. Get a parts kit, and a CHRONOGRAPH and make sure your gun is working, cleaned, and tuned, the DAY BEFORE you go to the field. I haven't needed a backup, EVER, doing this.
I see way more loaders go down than anything, get an extra one of those. And a few burst disks for your tank.

Look at your comment. Back to mine. Back to yours NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine. But if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate crap it could LOOK like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through the comments, finding the ones that your comment could look like. Back at mine, what is it? It's a highly effective counter-troll. Look again, MY COMMENT IS NOW DIAMONDS.

Since you are a poppet guy, get an Etek 3. It's not quite as nice as your ego, but still very nice.
Otherwise, get a chronograph, lube and a rag and clean your gun after every use. Test fire your guns the day before your games and they will be good to go. I walk on any field and my guns are ALWAYS spot on fresh from their cases and aired up. As long as I keep my stuff maintained and then re-chrono after wards I never need to wonder if they are going to be shooting right.

Unless you are adamant on getting something different (like a spool valve as a back-up), get an etek or older ego. I have a G6R and bought a gen 3 intimidator as my backup. I already know how the gun works as well as the ins and outs to it. The lube/oil, most o-rings, and tools are all shared making it easy to work on and maintain.
Edit: To those saying you don't really need a back-up, my G6R once had an o-ring blow that is non-user serviceable. Getting to the o-ring would void the warranty and was very difficult to get to without a proprietary tool. **** happens and a couple hundred dollars can keep you in that tournament.

My thoughts exactly man! I appreciate it. I've been looking at an etek 3 lt. My main concern is because right now my backup is an ion. -__- and as much as I love it, and know how it works in and out... It's a little outdated. Haha.

Unless you have extra money that you don't mind spending, I think an Ion is fine for right now. It's a back-up gun; it doesn't have to be perfect. In an ideal world, the back-up gun is never used. You only need it for those rare situations. The Ion is fine for tournament play and only misses out on those conveniences that you would have for your new ego.
I say keep the Ion and check the BST often. Try and find either an unbeatable deal or wait for a tournament prize that has an Etek or something.

Haha. Man, if I had another 700 bucks, I'd so do that! I want one so bad. I'll have to sell my soul to save up my money enough for a backup gun.

Stick with the ION. No need to spend a lot of money on something that you'll only use if the primary goes down.
