lol that is great.
I work about 15-20 minutes away from there and have never once been there. problem is i live 40 minutes from work and there is a better place about 25 minutes away in the rocky river (although a lot more people go there).
life is hard when you have 4 rivers in close proximity jam packed with rainbows

Boat or surf fishing?
If your on a boat, try a tube and worm if you want to eel. Low and slow trolling.
If your fishing from surf, can't go wrong with the standard plugs. Early on in the season I always go with a bucktail and some porkrind. If you are a chucker, can't beat fresh clams or sandworms.

what is reasonably priced to you?
I need a pair too. Old waders are huge on me. got them about 2 years ago when i was close to 300lbs, and now im at 235.

i dont really want to spend more then 100 and would like waist high, dont need chest waders.
i think ii am going to get http://www.fishusa.com/Frogg-Toggs-H...de-Pant_p.html
only issue is i have a size 14 shoe so even if those do fit my feet the waist is ultra massive for me.

I use my duck hunting waders year round. I dont really sweat in the spring and summer. I just have to remember to take my shell belt off of them

god advanced casting methods on this centerpin are hard as **** lol
i think the hardest part is getting used to the rod length, i am used to something half the size. the load point is completely different then anything i have ever used before

I'm use to the rod length since in NY I use a 11'6 rod. It's just the hand mind coordination haha

It was almost 80 degrees here today and its warm enough to wet wade usually by mid April early May as long as you can adjust to the water. Everybody has a different tolerance when it comes to temp lol. I went to Academy today looking for the Zoom flipping chunk and they didn't have any. Didn't have any at Dick's either. Really irritated me considering Academy was having a huge sale on all Zoom plastics and I was forced to buy some KVD perfect plastics instead. Oh well, just the way the cookie crumbles. I still haven't learned I can't have everything my heart desires and that the world does not, in fact, revolve around me

LL Bean. When they rip, send them back. They have a lifetime guarantee. It'll be the last pair you will ever buy.

thanks for the advice, will look into LL bean after my outing tomorrow.
just finished wraping 3 dozen spawn sacks w/ salmon eggs (orange and pink) got 50 wax worms, a bunch of gulp! immitation trout worms and tons of flies. also bought a brand new Greys fly reel today (asked to see it from the display, spinned it and told the clerk "take my credit card now before i change i regain sanity"). packed the car with my centerpin and fly set and a spinner just in case. definitely overkill for my first solo steel head outing this year but hey, i would much rather have all my gear and not use half of it then half my gear and wishing I had all.
good luck to everyone else tomorrow
btw, this is the reel i bought http://fly.greysfishing.com/en-us/pr...ls/gx700-reel/ for the price greys makes some awesome gear.

imhungry, are berkley trout worms popular out there? I know in NY the steelhead would go nuts for them(the 3" variety, in pink). they even worked great for trout down here in NJ

I have a nice pair of Simms I use for a few rivers around here. And I have 2 pair of ****ty LL Bean ones I started with and rotated to Salt and other ****ty rivers. I fish my main rivers the most and I use my Simms, but I don't want to contaminate so I keep the LL Beans for the crap rivers.
I agree, but for the money you can't beat 'em. I love my Simms but its definitely a big bill to bite if you are just starting.
