There is the best you can expect.

Six pods and a hopper at 300fps is a REAL number to expect out of the box on a 68/45. After 10 cases you may see a jump by a pod. That's a quality 300fps w/o drop off. Efficiency is not a strong point of the geo 2.

I agree with above statement. I have a geo2 and 2.1 both were brand new when I got them. I play at 300 and get no more than six pods and a hopper on a 68/45. Even after 20 cases and lower dwell I have never gotten measurable improvement. Best shooting gun though...

yea i agree i love the gun i just need a new tank that can shoot 7+ pods and i was wondering if any tank other than a 68 could shoot that many pods ahah guess not does it make it more efficient if i put the low pressure thing on the reg and use a ninja with an slp?
does anyone know how many pods it can get off a 45/4500?

You just said you need a tank that will shoot 7+ pods so a 45/45 is out of the question. You would need an 88/45

As far as the 45/45 question, I've never used one on a Geo2 but let's use some simple theoretical math to figure that out.
6 pods and a hopper is the common standard for a 68/45 so we'll use that as a constant:
(6x140)+(200)= 1040 total shots from a 68/4500
Then divide total shots by cubic inches: 1040/68=15.3
Then replace the divisor 68, with 45, and multiply times the quotient 15.3
45x15.3=688
So in theory you could expect 3.5 pods and a hopper out of a 45/45.

If you are looking to use a 45/45 on a spool valve marker your best bet is a clone vx or the new clone gt. Don't get me wrong the geo2 is a fantastic marker, it's just not designed to be efficient as much as reliable.
If your heart is set on planet eclipse then I'd check out the ego 11.

To all you techies and engineers out there, what about the design of the Geo is the culprit of the poor efficiency? What can PE do to improve this by a substantial amount?

It's a simple design like the g4 to make it more efficient it would need to be more complex like the clone.
You have to choose simplicity/reliability or efficiency.

The Geo 2 I had 2 summers ago I got 4 pods and a rotor with 1k left in the tank, using a ninja 50/4500.

I run a 45/4500 on mine and play a lot of 3mans. I carry 3 pods but very seldom have pulled that many. I can tell you that with 4000 in the tank I can get 3 pods and a hopper. I run out of air the same time I run out of paint
