i need serious help

During aa shootout in a game, the nerve went from full velocity then something happened in the middle of firing a load of paint. The velocity dropped to paint balls falling out of the barrel. I've taken this gun apart 3 times now, complete breakdown. No orings were damaged or missing. Didn't see anything wrong. Put air in it today and air leaks down the barrel. Idk what to do. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Yes every part the could have been taken apart was still no damage to poppet seat, or anything. So confusing....

One funny thing I noticed when it went down the gauge psi went above 300.

Too high a pressure entering the marker can act to hold the valve closed which will in turn reduce velocity. So, if the inout pressure has increased, as per the reading on the gauge, then that could explain the loss of velocity. If the input pressure to the marker has suddenly increased for no reason, then that would suggest an issue with the reg. The reg poppet or valve seat being dirty or damaged would be the most likely causes of the reg pressure increasing.

Now that funny that u say that cauuse I checked and double checked that poppet and complete breakdown of the poppet. When aired this last time the bolt moved foward and stopped and air leaked down in front of the bolt. I also checked the inline reg and nothing unusuall. That's why my problem is so confusing. But something keeps telling me its something simple that I'm missing. I'm almost to the point to send it off any ideas of where to send if it comes down to that?

Of course, that was the first thing I did before any kind of break downs.

Hope you have luck resolving this issue. I've had a similar problem with my old nerve that I couldn't diagnose. Good luck to you, I hope you get it

I cant think of anything to help other than swapping orings out till it works again, because you might not be able to see if an oring is just barely damaged...and make sure you check all of them in the lpr too. mine will act weird and have low velocity if i tighten the lpr extender housing down even a hair too tight-squashes an oring out of round and causes an internal leak, which totally messes up the recharge, so it'd drop off with rapid fire. wouldnt have found it except i have an lpr tester..

have you ever used pliers to seperate the piston housing?

If yes, Its worth checking to see is any metal shavings from the housing have broken off and scratched the inside of the body. This could cause the pneumatic lockout that Uziel described.

Lots of people scratch the housing when seperating it from its mate (they should be loctited together) and then assemble it back together without sanding down the damage. If this happened...its not good. lets just leave it at that.

Also, check your tank reg, just to cover all the bases.

The tank reg is fine. I have a backup 68 automag and it works fine. I bought the nerve used and he had a second one that he gave me and I'm going to rebuild with the parted out nerve he gave me. Now one question, the parted out one is older and no lpr extension. Now can the old lpr be rebuilt to work with the extension. And the bearing do I need to toss it or put it in with the ext peice?

keep the bearing. any ya, the old lpr should work with the extension pieces. all the extender does is give the same lpr more air volume.
i believe the main poppet will be different on the one without the extender, as that's the other thing they changed with that. the newer poppet (that should be the one you already have in the main gun) you want to use with the extender should have a small step on the shaft. zdspb.com has more on that, and pics too.
