STO to Tommy gun build

Sooo Viper is coming to my area and I'm getting some guys to go, it's a mafia, bootleggers kinda stuff scenario, I just picked up a 98 STO body that I was gonna use for another project but I was thinking that it could make a pretty badass looking Tommy gun build, has anyone tried anything like that? Also, I'm a mag guy, what kinda front pnues are the best for something like that?

sorry, i like stock '98 STOs entirely too much and milsim entirely too little to be of any use to you. i might even cry if you hack it up.

Hack? WHy would I hack such a perfect body?? This is a few slap ons so I can look *****ing in my fedora at a Scenario game.... and technically it's not milsim because I'm not simulating the military it would be Mobsim :-P

I'm going to take an old metal shroud and cover it in some wood (maybe laminate) get some wooden 45 grips and take a old rifle stock I cut down on a 1" by 1/2" metal bar to mount it like a beaver tail.... and idk weld some pie plates together for a drum.

ok, phew... faith in humanity restored.

go for it, i guess... personal preference > all. me, i'd just proudly rock the STO and not hide it in a shell. mags, ions and other small, single-tube markers are better for that type of thing, IMO, but you've gotta shoot what's fun.

and yes, i dig mobsim.

on a related note, i have always wondered why sci-fi-sim never really caught on. i mentioned this on another forum the other day, actually... why is it that people are so gung-ho to make their tippmanns look like AK-47's and whatnot, but nobody is modding markers to look like plasma pistols, needlers, lascannons, etc.? that'd be way cooler, IMO.

Oh I totally agree, I mean it took me long enough to find the body that was unmolested.... Still need to find a PBlock but I'm working on it.. or if I have to I'll just mill one myself!

It's really just I've always wanted to do one of those crazy theme games so now that one is a few hours away from me I am going all out... I have a Mag that i am building to be like the sawed off shotgun Clyde used (think bonnie and clyde) and I am gonna make a m98 a tommy gun as well, since they are halfway there. With the STO I think I may keep the grips and ever since I thought about recovering the shroud with wood I think it would look *****ing regardless very classy.

Totally agree with you thou Milsim in itself has always struck me as meh, especially when you get guys that load up their guns soo much that they are unwieldy.

Check some of the old APG's I know they had some borg and predator scenario games when I was a kid where guys had their guns looking like lasers and plasma rifles it was friggin cool!

you have my attention.

I was kicking around a box fed machine gun idea. I wanted it to look kind of like an old school BAR(bonnie n clyde 4tw) but I have limited time and funds anymore.

Access to proper machinery would have helped too

yeah I don't think I want to drop the coin involved in making the drum feed work on the tommy gun.... I could do it with some force feed guts but the effort for that would give me like what 30 ball capacity

I should've kept that STO body (-__-) haha
Would've made a nice pump.
But your plan seems very interesting (O_o) I would really like to
see pics of the final product if you go through with it

GOOD LUCK!

Nice find. The only think I would watch out for is the strength of the aluminum body when mounting a stock to the grip frame and beaver tail screws. Those are not the strongest places on a cocker.

Also, I would consider finding a spare square front block for the shroud and find a way to screw the shroud to it. Those shrouds never really stayed on the best.
