I was on at 3:43 pacific time what's wrong with that?
If he was in the pacific time zone, he was on 3 hours before me.
And I cannot for the life of me win a TvZ.
When I'm terran, I play a mmm style w/o any mech. Is this my problem? I am absolutely terrible at tank play.
I run into this problem a lot, along with mutas in the mid-late game even if I properly execute drops and kill tons of stuff (ask freeloss):

his location sucks "kensucky" and that's the eastern time zone. Hence 3:43.
also are any of you gayboys on so you can train me?

You need tanks, unless you're doing some sort of constant pressure build where you repeatedly attack with small groups of marines and maybe medivacs. Even then, it's very easy to have 1 or 2 unfavorable engagements and get overwhelmed.
Trying to beat a ling/bane army with just mmm is not easy, you're micro needs to be significantly better than your opponent's.

TvZ and TvP lategame are unpossible.
Only time I win TvP's is when I do some weird strategy and my opponent is too stupid to properly respond. I can also win if they go for the standard deathball with no templar. Once Templar and Colossi are out, I may as well just pack it in. I do not have the ability to micro ghosts, vikings, and MMM at the same time.

That's why you keep losing. Marine Tank+stim+medivac is basically mid-late game TvZ. Watch some of MMA's matches with it.
I lost a game yesterday against some zerg who went mass ling/bling all TLO on me. I had blue flame helion and marines/maurader+medivac and got rolled. Unless you have PERFECT micro/marine splitting, it's just too hard to win, and zerg can easily out produce terrans. Trading armies isn't a winning strat, so Terrans have to use Mech units to be more economical during engagements. Easier to get +1 armor upgrade on tanks, and let them deal out the damage while the rines sit in the back and do their thing.

Best strat is to just know the timing. They hit around the 8-10 minute mark. If you can drop in his base and snipe the spire, that's always good. Or hope to kill a bunch on their first run through. Sensor towers are your friend too. Sniping down a bunch of Mutas on their first run through can make a zerg tech switch out of Mutas pretty quick if he sees that a good defense is up to defend against it.
I completely agree with the tank+marine play being painfully slow. It requires good micro, a lot of scans, and a slow push. Medivac drops also work well. But yeah, it's pretty dumb.

I'm not sure why anyone would try to play vs zerg without tanks.
