Service Men and Women! Need your input!
Can you guys clear this up for me? I'd like to hear from active duty members and what they think of this subject.
Why do people expect the troops to be treated like celebrities when one is unfortunately killed? Pictures like this have been floating around for a while now and many people agree with them. Now I don't know if this is unpatriotic or not, but I think these things are a bit overdone. I myself have not joined the military, but have much respect for anyone who is enlisted. But my view is, people who join the military know their risks and don't join for the fame. They join to fight for their freedom. Can I say this is correct? People who die fighting for their country should get all the attention they deserve, but this shouldn't mean people have to bash others fame because of accomplishments they made.
Please, Please, Please don't take any of this the wrong way. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

So you're saying since she accomplished more and had more fame than a soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice deserves to have her funeral televised and paraded around more?

Because so many have sacrificed more than you could possibly know. The main difference between them? Lt. Murphy wasn't a worthless crack whore that got was coming to him. Pick up a book and read a little bit and you might be able to tell the difference. I have no remorse for people like her. Think I cared that Michael Jackson was a great musician? Nope, he was a pedophile. Do I care he died? World is a better place now. But what would I know...

The American public is filled with pussies and retards. It doesn't surprise me that they pay more tribute to a crackhead or child molester than a man who gives his life so his buddies can live. I personally don't give a **** what the majority of Americans think, I'll never forget my fallen brothers.

I wrote this about that ****** count that did the wiki leak release, but it holds so true to your trolling question.
Our population is a ****ing waste of inapt space. They have no reason to be here beyond sucking mindless air. They are as close to goldfish as anything, watching from their glass then swearing off the ones that keep that glass from cracking. If our population actually had a buy into the war(s) and what its military swears to protect than maybe I would feel different, but I feel tolerant because they have no idea because they are okay being mindless sheep and slugging through their lives as such. If our population had a buy in and I mean a real and true buy into what our worthless politics do day in and day out and not weather ****** Kardashin was still alive or how they love a child rapist named Michael and the crack whore Whitney. If they did our economy wouldn’t be garbage and we wouldn’t be a laughing stock of the world. If they did hard work and manual sweat like our forefathers wouldn’t be a outside and crazy thought to get us back on top. But we would rather line our pockets and outsource everything. Then question why things are the way they are.
No man in the military that has fought and nearly died overseas on a foreign land lives the same life they lived before. For the most part there whole perspective changes and they live their lives with a true respect of what to be alive is about. A fter my deployment I felt so free and alive, I felt what it was to live to always know that most of the 90% of my day was pointless and at anytime I knew what “living” is. Nearly dyeing and being killed opens up your real sight. This alone makes us different, it makes us above the bull**** that consumes the normal slug of society.
The world isn’t a pretty place and war is even a dirtier obsession. War makes money it has gone hand in hand since the Romans and Greeks. Men profit off the death of others. People like this think “oh I’m making a difference” when in reality they are pulling the string that can un sack everything we fight for. Right or wrong it tears away at the fabric all the 300+ million Americans base their lives around.
Take the Syrians for example, they call for the death of the west and kill Americans day in and day out. Then their own government begins to slaughter them to keep the peace and they scream and beg like whores for the cock of the world to suck for help. They are worthless and deserve it. I’m glad that Russia and China vetoed the resolution and more of them are killed. Only because karma is a *****, they supported the ****ers we were killing daily in Iraq and even Afghanistan; they harbored those bastards for years giving them the tools to kill us. I have no a once of concern if 2,000 or 20,000 are killed. I would give two ****s if the entire region was whipped out by some virus. I truly and firmly believe that the Arab world is a disease and will be one of the larger factors that rips this “world” apart with their never ending religious bull****.

It is about throwing your life away.
Houston had everything you could of wanted...she threw it away. Yes she had an addication, but threw it away.
Service memebers that die oversea, on foreign soil, away from their family and friends fighting someone elses fight.
Which one is selfish?

Well, many of them join because it provides employment and the opportunity to be part of a force for good in the world (despite the small mishaps we encounter). These individuals are appreciated and it is most saddening when they do die or are injured. You just won't see them on American media because they don't have franchises set up nor people to capitalize on their death like celebrities do.
America is sick and has been for a while. More children these days know who Ronald McDonald and the cast of Jersey Shore are than they do Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Jack Churchill.

My perspective......I don't really care.
People apply their emotions, etc. to whatever and whomever they feel attached to.
If someone was a fan of Whitney Houston, and they mourn that persons death, and not the death of a soldier whom they know nothing about, nor have ever heard of, and in no direct way affected their life, that makes sense to me.
There are more important things for me to worry about as a soldier than worrying about what a bunch of civilians worry or care about.
If I die doing my job, and noone mourns, I still did my job, and that's what I care about.
To think I deserve praise for the things I do....I'm a humble person, and can't imagine it.
I would prefer to do very well at my job, and for noone to ever take notice that doesn't need to know.
If I die doing my job, my family and friends will care. That's the extent to which I give a ****.
If you want the country to mourn you, and lower all the flags to half mast, and have specials on all the news stations, than that is your prerogative.
That's my perspective, and the nature of the beast that is my military service, in my eyes.
Should service members garner the respect they deserve, absolutely.
I'm sure some will disagree.
I'm not losing any sleep over it.
If someone places importance on the life of one person more so than on someone else, regardless of who they are or what they have done, that is their right. They can exercise it however they want.
