because your sneaky sneaky??? or the ref really was only focused on what you were shooting and not how far you were.

Meat you slipped through the cracks. The refs will be watching more closely this year. If anyone is shooting a "hot" launcher they will get a judge punch and have to leave the field. If it's you you'll get two judge punches.
Can we move on now?

I know our society doesn't encourage self-accountability anymore but, ultimately, the players have to carry some of the responsibility for reading the rules and managing to keep themselves within them. There simply aren't enough refs to follow everyone around and tell them
"No come back here. You can't play from out of bounds."
"No you have to stop shooting now. You're hit."
"No you have to leave the field. You can't run fifty feet and then call for a medic."
"No you can't call for a medic. That's a head shot."
"You have to leave the field now. That was called a paint grenade and the paint from it eliminates you from play."
Don't make a major screw up and have an army of refs and a hundred players all standing giving you "that look" because you were "that guy" who didn't read the rules and screwed up the event for them.

I thought this year was a great event all in all but stopping the final lunch battle to find sniperwolf's camera was NOT ok. If you wouldn't do it for someone else why do it for him?

I saw this and I was like woah, 8 pages already.. and then I realized someone rez'd the thread from last year.
Anyways I played both years, and they were both great! No real complaints here..
Like:
Pump night (ok, I love it)
Playing both sides
Best Reffing ever
Paint shoots great
Excellent parking
CPX Girls & other "minor celebrities"
Bikini Contest
NPPL at same location/dates
Missions/Mini-battles
Dinner battle & Final battle
Food is good, and priced right
Dislikes:
Having a 3rd party team that can spawn anywhere
I'd like to see more battles in bedlam / Armageddon. The other fields are a little disjointed and limited on playability due to angle of sidelines, and the woods.
Suggestions:
Add more buildings instead of airbunkers/hyberball fields. Even cars or random items would be better.
If you are going to have a 3rd team, designate 1 spawn point & make it very clear what their purpose is. Allowing them to spawn behind enemy lines at will is kind of shady (though I'll admit very fun) I did here a few people complain about it

Last year at LL4, the food sucked(I had three very rare burgers :p) and it was hard to find water. Definitely NOT a problem this year
Good, what I liked:
Amazing staff
Great overall vibe
Great Paint
Awesome Referees
No problem finding a parking spot. No parking guards is another plus.
FINAL BATTLE!
Bad, what I didn't care for:
3rd party team. This was just annoying. I know it makes the game harder, but it's really aggravating to be barrel tagged when you walk a mile to reinsert. This third party team kept spawning right at our insertion point and obliterating us right off the bat. I agree with Doyle, have a set spawn point for them.
Playing the net. For at least an hour on Saturday, a few guys were hiding behind the net in bedlam. I recall this being against the rules last year, but it wasn't enforced this year. It pretty much caused the game to stalemate.
Other than that, it was a great game!

Event was great! Couple of ideas...
Can you make the drive from Jersey less than 14 hours?
Maybe make sure the refs are all on the same page with the rules. I played all day Saturday and most of Sunday with the blue tape on my "left" arm. Until I was "punched" late Sunday by a ref.
Nerfs. Maybe use only "CPX" supplied rockets. Rockets that the generals have to purchase with "points". And when a rocket hits a target the ref checks to be sure it is a proper rocket..."FRO" field rockets only...

I didn't notice the rippers being a problem, although it sounds like others found them frustrating. Here's a suggestion. If they're allowed to spawn from any point, how about limiting their firepower to pumps and barrel tagging only? It would also follow with the story line that they're a low tech, indigenous population.

I wasn't a fan of the Rippers.... coming from someone who was tagged out by them multiple times, i really ruined the fun when i had to trek another 1/2 mile back to reinsert again. teams that had a large group of people may have been ok, as someone could always watch behind, but Me, being by myself for my first event. It seemed that the "rippers" targeted people like me, who happened to be ill equipped to watch the treeline for New Empire, then get tagged in the back.

It was a little cheesy to have the HK army filming staged action during game play. I heard that players were cleared out of that area for this.

Rippers were a great addition actually. I thought they really kept the game in check. Rippers would help one side, get a big push going, and leave. Eventually would come back in and push the other side along and even things out. Kept the game moving.
Blue used the rippers by forming an alliance for a small bit. But most of the blue didn't check the time and when the alliance was over, they paid dearly.
...
As for the HK Army bit video taping, as mentioned above... I thought that was BS. Who ever made that call and allowed that to happen, really didn't think it through.
I was on a mission, needed to go through that area and was told to stop, and not allowed to go through for 10+ minutes. Refs all nodded like it was OK to ruin my game that I paid for...
So... I pay money, I'm on an area that is IN play, and I'm being told by some goofballs that I can't use it.
That's messed up. Horrible horrible call....

I believe the refs should have known more about the missions involved in the game so that other players could ask about them
