Hello! Welcome to the sport!
First things first: Get a good mask if you don't have one. You don't want to be playing and have your visor fog up. Look at JT flexes, VForce Grillz, and Dye i4s or i3s.
As for paint, you really get what you pay for. Avoid getting paint at Wal-mart. Remember though: the paint you use and the cleanliness of the barrel are the two biggest factors in accuracy.
Here is a helpful link to things you should buy:

Add E'Vents to the list of masks, and you're set.
As far as paint goes, Valken paint is pretty good in my experience. Formula 13 is ok, stay away from the cheap stuff at walmart.

US ARMY paint works best.
If I were you I would get a rail for the handle and buy a Salvo shroud.

I like Grills masks... a straightline barrel, and I like Nelson and US army Paint.

I just installed the cyclone feed system on mine. I'm not usually a fast shooter so the faster ball feeding doesn't really matter to me. But every once in a while balls would kind of jam up and not feed at all while I'm shooting. And if I didn't clean my gun since the last game- I sometimes chop balls. I expect those things to never happen again with the cyclone feed system. ($60 on most web sites)
I also ordered (but have not received yet) a 16" J&J barrel ($29). Accuracy is the biggest thing I want to improve on my gun.
From some research it appears upgrading to a cyclone feed system and an aftermarket barrel are the first upgrades you should do. 14" is usually the standard upgrade, but in my case the 16" barrel was the same price- so I just got the 16".
Good luck. You have a good durable gun. A couple upgrades like the ones I suggested will go a long way on the field.

A longer barrel would definitely be your first move. Don't fall for the "sniper barrel" craze, and go with a 12-14 inch. Also, a foregrip is a really nice addition, unless you like to hold onto the front of the mag. Polishing the internals and adding no-kick hammers and such are good ideas.

My Alpha Black came w/ an E-Grip, so before I ever used it, I had it outfitted with the Cyclone feed. Never looked back. Occasionally it'll chop a ball, but if you make sure to clean it after every game, it'll serve you well for years to come. My first couple of games, I used the stock barrel. It's bored over-sized, so it won't cause barrel breaks, but if you shoot higher-quality paint, it tends to run small, so the balls curve, and your accuracy decreases. I now routinely shoot a J&J barrel that is bored at around .687, and I now size my paint so that I know that whatever I'm shooting will be roughly around that size. My accuracy has jumped a considerable amount. If you can find out the bore of your existing stock barrel - and you can use paint that is at or near that size, you'll be fine in the accuracy department.
---------
Loadout: Primary: Alpha Black Tactical w/ E-Grip, all body parts are stock. J&J 16-inch barrel: .687 bore, APP "T4" offset hopper (holds 450 paintballs), 68/4500 Pure Energy Carbon-Fiber HPA tank, set to high pressure - on the marker. Backup: Tippmann TiPX pistol w/ 2 mags, still on 12-gram CO2 powerlets. Pack: Medusa M-700 (holds about 6 pods worth of paint), has a pocket where I'll stow a 500-round bag for longer games - total paint count 1500+). Mask: Profiler that is 100% stock. Uniform: Exiled Souls Team Jersey & Woodland Camo BDU pants, Harley Davidson reinforced-knuckle half-finger gloves, BDU patrol hat in ACU digital camo (US Army Issue).
