No water/food at least two hours before a run or you'll get cramps.

I usually do a yogurt/coconut water or some high-potassium liquid source.
You can run forever.
Protein drink if you want more oomph from what you did.
Head, the 7th element?

I'm impressed. I'm still having a hard time going more than twice a week. I have dropped like 6 lbs since Tuesday or Wednesday just from IF, though. Surprising how little food you actually need.

I've been noticing that too. It's like all of a sudden everyone just discovered the internet, and it's annoying as hell.

...wut? Staying hydrated is the most important part of any activity. Furthermore, pre-hydrating is way more effective than just trying to replace the water you've lost afterwords.

Hydrate a few hours before, drinking WHILE running/right before running is what causes cramps. My trainer says to only wash our mouths out before a run, and spit it out. Drinking even a 4th of a water bottle will cause cramps.

Is that why water bottles are handed out during long runs (marathons, half-marathons, 5ks, 10ks, etc)? Your trainer's a tool. Cramps are caused by not having a sufficient amount of potassium. You can also take in some electrolytes to make the cramps go away. My favorite thing to do is drink some pickle juice.

You're talking about distance running, I'm talking about <1.5 mile runs. If my trainer is a tool, than you can explain to me how he's taken me from a complete scrub with the hand eye cordination of an orange to a starting center for varisity in under a year and a half?
1.5 mile runs are sprints, if you don't drink while running marathons, 5ks and 10ks you're most likely going to pass out from dehydration, those are jogs, they aren't sprints, you need you're body to endure, not perform at its peak for less than 10 minutes.
If you don't believe me try it, drink two water bottles about two hours before a run, then go for you're run, see if you get cramps or not ( <1.5miles ) and then the next day, drink a half of a water bottle right before your run and see if you get cramps.

I never claimed to be a trainer. I just know that water is never going to impede your ability to perform, whether it's running or any other physical activity. Food will cause you to cramp, depending on what it is, but water will not. Well, unless you're drinking a ton of water immediately before.

Is it really that big of a deal that you win this argument? Because at this point you're really not doing much to disprove me. All you've said at any point is that your trainer said this and your trainer's not a chump because such and such.
Edit: Also, about.com health compiles resource from a ton of creditable institutions. Doing any amount of research will come to the same conclusion, so if you want to put forth the effort, by all means go ahead.

Getting a bunch of BKO parts next week. So excited. Couple feednecks, couple boards, wiring harness, and a couple other things. My parts BKO will be whole again and my main gets some upgrades.

Both of you need to calm down. You don't want to gulp down water when sprinting. If you take a sip or drink a little it isn't bad.
