Taking black and white FILM photography class... What Camera to buy?

I have been into digital for years, but really have no clue what kind of film camera to get. Everything will be shot in black and white. What should I look for on ebay? Thanks

AE-1 is cheap and there are plenty of lenses available on the cheap.

I love mine, I use it more than my DSLR.

You will really appreciate photography after you take this class. Developing your own film is something every photographer should do. The fact that you can see a picture on a screen after you shoot makes you pay much closer attention to what your doing. You can get something that isn't expensive and still take good shots, lens is what I would pay attention to. It's not what you have (to an extent) its knowing how to use what you have. Good luck.

I used a Nikon N70 with a Sigma 28-200mm for my photo 1 class. Worked out great.

Canon AE-1, hands down. Unless you want OLD SCHOOL, and then the Canon TL.

The old Nikons are great for B&W film. Try one of these (prices guestimated from eBay):

+ FM2 $200
+ FE $150
+ FE2 $200

Of course, always check lens interchangeability:
