Leak in Electra

I have a leak in my Electra LED and have replaced all o-rings. sounds like the leak is coming out of the barrel. also with my mr1 with upgraded e grip when i shoot it once in semi-auto it goes full auto and wont stop till air is disconnected. What's wrong with my stuff???

Sear isn't catching the striker, try a new battery or take pressure off the spring. The leak may be from the cup seal, try using VERY FINE sandpaper (like 2000 grit, maybe 4k) and sand the cup seal face a little tiny bit if you can't find a cup seal. The leak may be from the valve orings, if you haven't already use the oring from an air tank on it.

Buy a new / better one for a few bucks - there are some after market cupseals that use far better rubber/plastics to seal the valve. - Leak down the barrel is a cupseal issue 99% of the time.

Electra- cup seal. (buy and install a new one)

mr1- Do you mean the board kicks into full auto mode shooting whatever BPS it is supposed to? if so the board has issues.

If you mean it starts shooting like crazy (similar to when you run out of air) then the sear is not catching. Your drive-spring (main spring) may be too tight. (read your manual and it will tell you how to adjust the velocity). The drive spring may also be too loose, it may not hit the seal with enough force to allow enough air to flow through. too tight is more likely.

Your solenoid may not be retracting fully. that means either replace the solenoid (which will involve soldering) or buy a new E frame. (I doubt this is the problem)

Your sear or striker may be damaged. Take the marker apart and check the catch milled into the bottom of the striker and check the sear. Make sure your striker is not installed backwards (if it is backwards you likely need to replace your drive spring)

and don't listen to the crap people say about spyders. They are cheap markers. They are designed to be low end and affordable. Spyder has hit the dot perfectly with markers that are cheap and work. I have had a spyder for 10 years, I have since upgraded to better markers but I keep it for friends, it still works.

Also, something I actually noticed recently on my Spyder Pilot is the trigger might be too close to the switch. The vibrations from firing one shot might cause the switch to auto activate itself and continue to fire.

When you remove the air from your Electra, you also remove all the kick and vibrations that the gun might create due to no air to move the bolt.

Just another idea...

That's if you don't take care of them, they aren't tanks/maintenance free like a Tippmann- but a fine tuned Spyder can be a low pressure paint throwing beast -far more accurate and efficient than other markers in it's price range. They're worth taking care of - but a lot of players just don't spend the time to get to know it.

2 things:

check the sear, if it's been worn down it may be slipping and letting the striker keep going back and forth without catching it.

or

The cupseal on your valve is bad.

I second Axe.

I shot a spyder with maddmann springs and an AKA valve in it... wooooooaaaaahmagawd.

Start with sear.. Replace it.

Then check and replace the cup seal... Also make sure the oring on the hammer is good and is the right kind.
