Getting Lasik soon!!!
Because of my return to paintball this past year, as a guy who wears glasses and hates contacts, i've decided to get lasik. It started with ordering contacts and wearing them ONLY for paintball (though the i4's are pretty nice with the glasses). Every person I know who's had the 5 minute procedure done says it's the best thing they've ever spent their money on, or are angry that they hadn't had it done sooner.
So tomorrow, i'm going to call a clinic, schedule my eye exam, and then "get-err done!".
Who's had it done? What do you think? Do you still possess the ability to see?
*Wish my wife hadn't spent so much of my darn flex spending account *

Wow cool!!!!!!!!!11
You're going to need it again in seven years....
My vision is close to 7.00 in both eyes (pretty ****ing blind), not sure how that transfers back to the 20/20 scale. But yeah, I think I might so this as well. Although i don't mind contacts, just when I drink I don't take them out and I wake up dry eyes.

-Wish I had tax money to spend again!
-I've done some research. Depending on where you go, most places have a lifetime warranty (i.e getting redone to correct changes) The one thing that will happen regardless, if you are a prime candidate for lasik, is that with aging there is no way to stop far-sighted sight loss and may need reading glasses. And by the way, dry contact-eyes suck a**, and have you tried playing a game of MW3 on xbox live with 10yr olds destroying you? That'll dry an eye ball out or two!!!!
-I'll hope that i'll go blind!!!

Wish I could afford it, I get to just settle with my contacts, though they can get pretty ****ing dry after a while at the field, back when I could afford to ball

I've been debating on it. Everyone I've talked to that has had it done has been beyond happy that they went through with it.
I need to do more research on the cons to the procedure, but I think I'm going to throw a little extra in my FSA next year to have it done.
Keep us updated.

Hahahahaha
As far as the cost, i'll probably finance it. All places do like a 12, 18, or 24 month no interest. Most people I know just pay if off before the interest applies.
Well, we'll see if they have any openings. With tax time, i'm sure it'll be hard to get in. One thing i'm not looking forward to is that I hear that you can literally smell your eyes burning. EEEeeesh! ... I hope it smells like bacon. Mmm, bacon sounds amazing right now!!!

My girlfriend had it done and she went from being legally blind to 20/20. I thought it was pretty nuts. She recovered pretty quick too. If my vision was worse i might think about it but i only need reading glasses so it's not a big deal.

At this point my sight isn't bad enough to make me want to go through with it but I'm sure I'll feel differently a few years down the road. I've never heard of someone regretting it.
