Is 5Man Race to 2 or Race to 4?

Is 5Man Race to 2 or Race to 4?

Originally it was announced as Race to 4. Everything now says Race to 2. Is this a typo or did the league decide to change things up. I know Race to 2 is easier to run, but I originally thought it was Race to 4 with Millenium rules. Just wanted to clarify. It will effect what division our team signs up for and we are trying to sign up ASAP.

I believe Race-to-4 depending on the format you and your team chose to participate in

Doubt it is a typo, same stuff is posted on both their sites and all over this one. If it is then someone should get reamed hard for it.

It was posted as race2 4 everywhere when this announcement was made. How did a massive **** up like that happen? How is it possible that you can charge 1400 more for the 5 man division than PSP? You cant justify it with more games, which was the only reason it made sense before this.

I really thought that when the big annoucement was made about several 5 man divisions playing a race2 format that the NPPL was on the right track and would be back on top.... But this, this just doesnt make any sense.

On top of a alreayd redicilously high entry, you are now charging people more for the same amount of games.

And on a side note. The ROF chip is retarded, what about spare guns? now I need to play $60 more dollars, on top of the hundreds I already have invested in the trip, my gear and extra gun?

Timmy does have some valid points but I disagree on the ROF chip. It is a good feature but I do think if they are mandatory they should be provided.

No, I do to. I think for a league that shoots semi its the answer to alot of questions, at least about guns that are programed to cheat. My concerns are about needing to purchase these chips for extra guns... that is BS. If anything, they should be given to you at the beging of an event, and you pay a deposit, if you break it, you buy it, otherwise you just turn it in and get your money back. I shouldnt need to buy a chip that is only useful to me at a NPPL event...

and to support my claims from earlier, this was posted on DEC 6th 2011:

NPPL, announces both 7 Man & X Ball divisional play for 2012

The NPPL is proud to give 2012 tournament teams a choice by offering both the Traditional 7 man Capture the Flag format and the Millennium Series format which includes Race to 5, Race to 4 and Race to 2. The following 8 divisions will be offered by NPPL for the 2012 season.

The NPPL Professional and Semi Pro 7 Man Divisions:

Professional - 7 man race to 5 Format.

Semi Pro/ D1 - 7 man race to 4 Format.

The NPPL 7 Man Divisions:

D2 - 7 man Capture Flag Traditional

D3 - 7 man Capture Flag Traditional
D4 - 7 man Capture Flag Traditional

NPPL race to 5-Man Divisions:

D2 - 5 man race to 4 (Millennium)

D3 - 5 man race to 4 (Millennium)

D4 - 5 man race to 2 (Millennium)

The only changes to the Millennium format rules will be no coaching or ramping. Instead the Rate of Fire (ROF) will be Semi Automatic 15 Balls Per Second (BPS)

The NPPL rules and format committee will be announcing more details on both formats including: event prize packages, series prizes for each division, entry fees, feeder series information and details on divisional team relegation and promotion. We are excited to offer teams the choice to play both formats this year. Team Registration for Huntington Beach will be opening soon on www.nppl.com.

They just changed it back. 5man is race to 4 for all 5man divisions. It was in the newsletter that it was a misprint before. Now all of the entry fees do not seem so bad.

Haha misprint? misprint happens here or there they posted race-to-2 everywhere on their main site, registration site, newsletters, postings, etc... More of a complete eff up. Like they don't have anybody that is checking the work someone is putting out. Makes them seem incompetent, unorganized, and unprepared.

The only cheat the nppl boards can catch is the rof cap... It can not tell if your are ramping, linear ramping, adding shots or even de bounce. All it does is record when your are shooting, rof, single player and team stats. And send an alert if the rate of fire passes 15bps. And you can buy your own board from virtue for I think they told me $45. It y's off the solenoid plug. And also works with the virtue rotor board.

I was excited about the first news release along with several other teams from my home state. I currently live 2 blocks from the HB venue. My team play Psp last season with out coaches it got rough sometimes. So we thought nppl d2 race was going to great. But with the lack of info and plans, budgets, time off needing to be made. We bit the bullet and when back with the Psp. It's sad nppl cannt get their stuff together it seems all the excitement about changes is being wiped out by the lack of info and wrong info. (and over priced) Wonder how many players made plans before the pricing came out... Best of luck to all players and all series this year.

I will be running in 2013... Slogan will be: "Players for Change"

I figure it worked once on the National scale....
