It also helps for snapping and pushing into bunkers on airball fields. Same concept for the most part tho.

You should keep it in your bag, but I honestly cannot think of a quality paint with that bore. Guns tend to come with that size so you can go out and shoot any type of paint right out of the box. What you will notice the most is the grouping of your shots.

A good little test to check if the paint you bought is a good bore size match with your barrel would be to roll it through the barrel. It should get stuck, but become unstuck with a little puff of air if the paint size and bore size are close enough.

That's true to a certain extent, but it's dependent on your form and playing style. Certain types of posture and off-hand shooting can make the extra 2" of barrel length irrelevant.

Come to Texas and play. .688 is often too small for some paint once it swells in the humidity.

Ah, yeah I'm coming from Arizona and Cali so the humidity isn't bad at all normally. I also buy my paint from a source that always has it really fresh, so that may effect it a bit too.

That should work just fine man. .689 is a good all around bore to use in my experience, personally I use a .685 more often than not.

I play in alot of leagues and tournies 12 is fine. depending on the mood i rock 12 or 14. the length has almost no effect unless you have like an 8in or a 16-20 in and then those both affect distance and accuracy

This best length and allows for almost all paints to go through without a hitch.

Personally, the only thing that matters is your paint to barrel match. When I first started, I was told that running a certain length barrel had it's advantages. Most people told me 14" was the way to go... I have since found out, my 12" barrels are just as good, if I have the proper paint to barrel match.

If I were you, I would save up and buy a barrel kit, such as; Evil pipe bomb, Smart Parts All American, or Smart Parts Freak or Freak Jr. Reason being, that this would have most of your barrel to paint matches set. Basically, paint should fit slightly snug in the barrel, and not fall all the way through. Most fields even require you to use their paint, in order to play.

Each field uses their own paint, thus varying sizes of paint are used. Get the proper tools to fight in a war, otherwise just go home! And the best tool you can have, is knowledge!

underboring could cause breakage too, though. which is why I didn't say that in the first place. new players might make mistakes and choose the wrong underbore.
