Poppit if you want to last a little longer. Also it will allow for a lighter set up.
Spoolie if you want to be a sneaky Ninja. But will have to get a bigger tank to last as long as the poppit.

depends on playing style. if your gonna be the "support" player shooting 10 pods a game with a 90/45 tank go with a poppet. if your more of a sniper go spoolie

Popits-more efficient, and typically easier to maintain/wont go down as much

Spoolies-softer on paint, little finicky with weather, more time to maintain, closed bolt assembly (dirt won't get in as easily)

Really you need to choose based upon what you want, where you will play, how long it will play, and what is required

I'd go with spoolie, tends to be more "tactical"

IMHO...
Best spool valve:
Macdev Clone VX - very good efficiency for a spool valve.

Best poppet valve:
Bob Long G6R - Everything an ego is and a lot better efficiency at nearly half the cost.

get a victory - smoothness of a spool with the efficiency of a poppit.

also spools are going to leak a lot more in the cold and require more maintenance.

Spoolies would give you a nice quiet sound signature but less efficiency. I would use a poppit just because the gain in efficiency.

Personal preference. I still prefer spoolies. However, they take a little more care and seem to be just a tad harder in cold weather. That said, just played a 140-player scenario yesterday for 7+ hours in sub-40F temperatures and my DM12 worked great.

I'd just like to clarify this: if you get same price range poppet end same price range spoolie, the efficiency is only maybe 3 pods. And if you under bore that number is even smaller

Anyway to the main point, if you are playing a large game like OK Dday, living legends, Monster, Castle conquest etc. You may not want to leave the field if you run out of air, of you simply may just want to shoot a ton of paint.

For something like that, a poppet like the G6R or Victory would be right up your ally for that. Which can get over a case off a 68/45. Even if it's not that large of a game and you just don't wanna waste time at the fill station they are still great guns to use.
I was thinking the same thing once I read "Big Game".
