I think we are offering a little something for everyone. It is hard for people to justify going to national events sometimes, especially if they are new player or have an untested team. The risk/reward factor is great when you start to figure in all the travel expenses. What we wanted to do is make our league standout so that, we hope, people will choose us to get that tournament experience they are looking for. The first place prize is a bit outrageous  but if you consider the other prizes as well it is a great prize package all together. The competition is stiff, they offer a great product as well, so we had to take it up a notch to hopefully draw players from all over the place. |

Seriously bro? They just doubled the prize package from last year and you want a discount...SMDH. You do realize that in order to continue with a tournament series, that is on the local level, they have to BUY the prizes, and TURN A PROFIT.
Prizes look great, I will be looking for a team for sure.

No doubt that the prizes are great. The full season discount will entice teams to pay up front and commit to the MAPL for the whole season. In my mind and others that have played the MAPL we have already committed to the MAPL reguardless of those other series offer lower prices. Not only are the prizes great but the tournament operations are top notch such as reffing, venue, and of course the players). There are other series in the area that are trying to one up this series by offer lower entry and paint but I for one would rather pay for the better experience in the MAPL. I'm looking at the season discount from a business POV. A little discount up front will pay dividends in the end. It was a suggestion and not a demand by any means. |

I haven't played in the GPL since they were being held @ Skirmish. It's looking good and I'm surely going give it a go this season.
