i aired it up and it shot great but there is a leak, when i took it apart it looks like its from the qev. is that it or is it something else.

It can be leaking from the threads of the QEV or the QEV can be cracked at the base of the threads. One other common leak on older egos can be the diaphragm.

If it shot, it may not be the qev diaphram. If you are certain it is from the qev blocks, or somewhere in that general area, it is a possibility it is the diaphram.

Are you sure its the qev. If so the are 2 O-rings on it check both or the diaphram that may help also look in the ego forums

It could just be a loose/leaking hose.

I just had the same problem on my 06. Changed the tubing from the valve to the 'noid, and both pieces from the 'noid to the QEVs, and it's fine now. Also, I don't think the 06's had replaceable diaphrams, think that was 07's and 08's, but check the manual to be sure.

sometimes the threads crack also if they were tourqued into the body. they will snap off leaving the threads inside. big pain in the neck
