lmao, this is so true in so many places.

translation for hardpainball:

I, the great turd, understand that you are looking for a camaro which are front engine / rear wheel drive cars. I think that a 2000 or 2001 Chevy Malibu, which is front wheel drive, is very similiar. The Malibu comes with the 3100 series engine (3.1L) which puts out 170 horsepower, 190 foot-pounds of torque. Another option is to go with a Buick Regal with a 3800 series engine (3.8L) which puts out 195 hp, or the supercharged model that has 240 hp, but it's heavier then the Malibu.

Both those cars will be faster then a third gen V8 camaro.

listed are the rated 1/4 mile times of the malibu and regal vs a stock V8 1990 camaro:

2001 malibu: 16.4
1998 Buick Regal GS: 14.9

1990 Camaro IROC-Z 5.8L 14.4
slowest camaro from 1982 to 1992 is:
1984/85 Camaro Berlinetta running a 17.0 in the 1/4 (v6 models)

A gen 3 would almost be better if u can find a clean one the parts are SO cheap with the exception of a few parts and in backwoods places the junkyards (and frontyards) are loaded with them. So if u need parts the parts cars are all over the place. Plus a v8 gen 3 is the same price almost as a v6 gen 4 so y the hell not if u pay it off all u need is liability on it. But personally your first car is going to suck u might as well buy somethign reliable not to say a camaro isnt but there are more reliable cars for 2k. Been down this road before sometimes u have to buy somethign as a point A to point B car not a sports car when u are that age.

98+up, skip the LT1 era and get an LS1. When I was 17 I bought a 98 SS for around 10k and my insurance was more than my car payment each month. Stick to your parents insurance policy if its possible and it wont be bad for a V8.
