by no means do i claim to be a professional.. there are selected AF points on a camera. canon's pro series cameras all have cross-type AF points that focus on horizontal and vertical lines in an image. this seperates your foreground and background/in focus, oof objects. servo focus is an autofocus mode that tracks moving objects as they come in and out of your focus plane. picture cameras have servo focus modes as well. photography is a bit different than video.
well idk much at all about sports photographers but that's that what servo focus is.
